Product description

Review

David McCaffrey's excellent debut novel, Hellbound is one of those thrillers that keeps you glued to the page while you try to imagine what will happen next. Cutting edge and Hannibal Lecter-esque, it will keep you turning pages until the shocking climax. --Steve Alten, best-selling author of THE MAYAN PROPHECY & MEG

Hellbound is on my top ten list of books I would read over and over again. The author, David McCaffrey, has covered the controversial subject of the death penalty and right from the very start you wonder if you can truly make a murderer like Obadiah who kills because he can and wants to, feel empathy and love.
Hellbound does not give you the authors opinion on the death penalty so you are not swayed in any way but he does give you the facts, you are then left to make your own mind up about the main character Obadiah Stark very clever! The book is written from different perspectives, the first is from Obadiah himself, you follow him while he commits many horrible crimes but also on his journey after his execution.
You also follow Joe O'Connell, a reporter that has been investigating Stark and finds that all is not as it seems. The writing is outstanding -you can tell that David has a background in criminology and psychology, the details and descriptions are perfect. I enjoyed every moment from start to finish. --Louise - www.crimebookclub.co.uk

David McCaffrey blows you away with a debut novel that is not only as violent and gruesome as it is compelling, it is written with a lucidity and love. You can tell the author threw himself into this book, every sentence exploding from the page and hitting the mark.
The main characters are very well rounded, the notorious Obadiah Stark (aka The Tally Man) may be one of the most vicious and horrifying villains committed to fiction in a while, his god complex making him so intriguing to read. Not to spoil it, but McCaffrey does something you would never think possible - he makes he feel for and support a mass murderer. --Robert Enright - author of One by One and Doorways

About the Author

David lives in Redcar in the North East of England. He is former Infection Prevention and Control nurse and now writes full time alongside running the publishing house (Live It Ventures LTD/Britain's Next Bestseller) he owns with his better half, Kelly. Kelly is his muse and ardent (but constructive!) critic of his work. They have a Jake, a Liam, an Obi and a Baby Moo on the way. He is also a huge geek.
