This book is beautifully illustrated and the Nursery Rhymes and wee stories excellent; bought for a new arrival of a baby girl next door and know she will come to love this book. Arrival date, packaging etc. excellent. Have no hesitation in recommending the purchase of the book.

Disappointed! This is supposed to be a collection but it is quite disappointing because the illustrations are very few and e.g. the rhymes are strange (seem to be written for an adult 100 yrs ago). But what can you expect for price of 5 pounds (inkl. shipping). The same goes for "Grimm's Fairy Tales (Egmont Heritage) with ill. by A. Rackham. I'm so very disappointed because I wanted to present to my granddaughter, growing up in the UK, some of the finest illustrators in her home country. Silly me to buy them at all! This is what happens when you try to buy things via the Internet instead of looking at the things in real life. Go to a real-life, good book store instead!

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite Nursery Story Book 31 July 2008
By Kim - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This is by far my(and kids )favorite book of nursery stories hands down.It has all the stories you are looking for like Goldilocks and The Three Bears, The Turnip, The Three Little Pigs, The Gingerbread Boy, Henny Penny, The Evles and the Shoemaker, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Little Red Riding Hood, and The Little Red Hen. They are not watered down versions of the stories. Yes the woodcutter chopped the wolves head off in Little Red Riding Hood that's how it was told to me and neither of my children have had nightmares from this. This book is a great find and one that should be in a childrens library.
