This review was first published at M's Bookshelf as part of a Gosling Girls Book Tour! http://mssbookshelf.blogspot.be

The first thing that stood out, of course, was the cover. The pink, the nails, the mugshot -concept,... love it! It's flirty, it's girly, it's fun... just like the book! I liked the make-over idea and inside glimpse into the life of the rich, famous... and scandalous.
The story turned out completely different than I expected. I liked the unexpected turn of events. The only 'negative' comment I can make, is that I felt all of it was a bit... rushed.
I think I would have liked the book even more if it had been a bit longer. It would give you more time to really understand the characters. Lucy, for example is a very "green teen", but that side of her hardly comes across from the moment "LuHan" is born, and the internal struggle between her LuHan -image and her true self would have been interesting to read, I think.
I enjoyed her "under cover" moments. They were scandalous, exciting and awkward ('cause let's face it: although she's a lovely girl, she was almost more convincing as 'Paris' than you was as 'Veronica Mars') at the same time.. very entertaining! IF the book had been a bit longer, I would have enjoyed more of these inside-scenes.
Heiress, P.I. is a very entertaining read with a lovely 'Miss Congeniality' -vibe.

I hadn't read a Young Adult for a while but when I saw this fab cover and read the interesting blurb I jumped at the opportunity to read this book. And it did not disappoint. It is a quick read that you can enjoy in one sitting but packed with action, humor and some teen love. The plot is original and well paced and our heroine, Lucy, is eager to take part in the most crazy schemes to help his (only) friend, Holden.

I really enjoyed the transformation that Lucy had to endure to become LuHan, the rich party beast heiress that the press went crazy about. I was quite hooked from the begining and then there were some unexpected twists on the plot that had me turning page after page just wanting to read more and more! I really hope there is more Lucy and Holden to come because the ending is quite open and left me wondering what is going to happen next.

What makes this book special though are the side characters: from Lucy's gran who lives on her own world on her huge mansion but has her own secrets to the Greek god who is supected to be a drug dealer. But including the it girl who just wants to have her photo taken by the press and the crazy stylist. They all create a fun crazy story that will leave you wishing for more!

The Heiress is a fun read. The main character Lucy Hansen is absolutely adorable. I was laughing out loud at some of the witty things that came out of her mouth. I really liked Lucy’s personality and once I started the book I could not put it down until I reached the last page.

I loved how it kept me hooked to the story and made my mind wonder as to what was going to happen next. The characters are really wonderful, and very believable. There are so many true references to actual wealthy young spoiled people in the tinsel town of Hollywood that makes this book even more stimulating.

The author does a great job in providing an interesting plot that keeps the reader glued to the pages. She has a terrific talent in blending mystery and romance in a very intriguing way. The book is very well written with lots of twists and turns keeping the reader guessing the whole way.

I would recommend the book to anyone who would like to spend a few hours lost into the pages of a very pleasant novel.

This was a fast-paced, chick lit mystery enhanced by very interesting and likeable characters, and sprinkled with Hollywood flair.

Lucy - a smart and lovely girl, involved in ecology and heiress to a fabulous fortune - and her childhood friend Holden, an intern at a detective agency, get involved in a dangerous investigation which turns out to be too close to home and puts Lucy’s life in jeopardy.

It was a very interesting, full of action, and hilarious at some points read. I highly recommend it.
