Heather Maisner is author of over 35 children's books, including award-winning titles. Her books have been translated into twelve languages and sold around the world.
Her children's books range from picture books to books
for fluent readers and teenagers. Many are ideal
for reluctant young readers, combining fiction with fact, and
games with information.
Heather spends her time between London and Norfolk, and her house is always full of pets: dogs,
cats, hamsters, rabbits, budgerigars, a chinchilla - but no dinosaurs. Until now . . .
Her latest project, DINOSAUR DOUGLAS BOOKS, features cheeky Dinosaur Douglas, who often gets things wrong before he gets them right. Written in rhyme, illustrated
by international artist Alex Godwin, with input from paediatric consultants at Chelsea & Westminster, these books explore health-related subjects for Early Years, including oral health, obesity, hand-washing and vitamin D.
DINOSAUR DOUGLAS AND THE BEASTLY BUGS encourages children to look after their teeth.
"Definitely the best children's book we have read about the importance of brushing your teeth." British Dental Journal.
DINOSAUR DOUGLAS HAS FUN IN THE SUN explores the importance of vitamin D and sunshine.
"A superb picture story, containing a very serious message - terrific idea, fun to read, fun to discover the message that's being put across!" Books Monthly.
DINOSAUR DOUGLAS AND THE RUMBLE GRUMBLE TUM shows the importance of healthy eating and exercise.
"Story Books that convey a vital health message have to be convincing and well illustrated. Heather's use of rhymes combined with Alex's terrific illustrations . . .ensure that they grab the children's attention right from the word go." Books Monthly
DINOSAUR DOUGLAS AND THE YUCKY MUCKY FINGERS shows the importance of hand-washing.
