I received a ARC in exchange for a honest review.
5* read.
I have to say I love this author anyways but this is defiantly my favourite book so far. I loved the whole forbidden side of the story, the Romeo and Juliet side that had me gripped and entrapped throughout. I met these characters in the past book briefly so to see them get their own book was great. I connected straight away and I fell in love with their story. So much drama and angst and as a reader I went on their journey with them as if I was right their. It was heartbreakingly beautiful to see these characters grow and the struggles they faced. Lee Cross is your sexy bad boy who you fall head over heals for and I loved the way his character grew throughout and how close he and his brothers are. Karla was a strong female who you couldn't help but connect with and feel every emotion she does. These two together were hot and you could feel the chemistry throughout. I can't say enough good things about this book and I'm so grateful I got a ARC. Two characters not meant to be together but who couldn't be more suited in every single way.
I can't wait for more Cross brothers books I'm beyond excited and I know ill fall in love with them just as much as I did with this one.

I love L.H Cosway as a writer, her characters are so well developed and her books always re-readable, I would recommend checking out her other novels, Painted Faces makes me laught and cry!

I've read this book twice now and I loved it even more than on the first read. I always buy kindle now but m considering buying the whole hearts series in a "proper book" format to keep on my book shelf. For me this is high praise as only worthy books make it here and for me Hearts of Blue is worthy!

I think I might love Lee more than I loved Jay.
I know, I can't quite believe it either.

Such a great addition to the series. I don't feel like you need to have read the other books to enjoy this one but I'd recommend reading atleast King of Hearts (book 3), just to make a few things clearer.

Do you know how excited I was to read this? After reading King of Hearts, which is one of my all time favourite books, I was beyond ecstatic to learn that East London bad boy Lee Cross was to get his own book, and not only that but his love interest was to be PC Karla Sheehan - A copper! Yes that's right, A copper, but I'll get to that later.

I know a lot about the boys in blue, as I grew up addicted to a tele program called 'The Bill' which followed the lives and exciting times of a bunch of Metropolitan Police officers, and it was a highly popular show, but anyway I am digressing.

Karla is a police constable, daughter of ruthless Superintendent Sheehan, she is trying to prove herself, not only as woman in a man's world, but as a PC worthy on her own merits. She takes her job very seriously and so she should.

When Lee was a teenager, his mum having just passed away, he was left living on a rough council estate, with no money, three brothers and a cousin to feed. He finds a way to do what he can in order to survive and even if that means being on the wrong side of the law, he doesn't know an other way.

When these two come together, it's explosive and I loved every single interaction that they had. Lee was a quite bit of a swoony hero and I loved the way he looked after those he cared about with everything he had.

Karla was an interesting enough character but I would have liked her to be bit more desperate in her need and want for Lee, she seemed a bit indifferent at times, I know if that were me I would have been pining!

The forbidden factor was very believable which makes for a great read; how can Karla in good conscious get involved with someone who is involved with a man who sells stolen cut and shut cars for a living?

This was absolutely the best book in the series so far.

Hearts of Blue started off a little slow for me. For whatever reason I just couldn't get in to the story, but then something just clicked.. the story, the characters, the excitement. All of it together had me hooked and wanting to read faster than I could. I had to know what happened next and how things could possibly resolve.

Karla and Lee couldn't be more different. Each living a life on opposite sides of the law. Karla is a police woman, intent on keeping the streets safe and putting the world to rights. Lee is the 'baddy', living a life of crime, only in order to keep his family together. I love a book where the characters, for all intents and purposes, shouldn't be together, but can't stay away from each other. On paper Karla and Lee shouldn't work. How can a police officer and a criminal ever work? I seriously didn't know how L.H. Cosway was going to get out of this one, and like I said, I couldn't wait to find out.

"The thin blue line would always lie between us. Me on the side of order and him on the side of chaos."

The writing in this book was brilliant. I have never read a bad book by this author. She always keeps me interested. Hearts of Blue was jam packed full of action, something new and exciting new happening in every chapter. The relationship between Karla and Lee was explosive, challenging and full of ups and downs and it was so interesting and exciting to read about. I also enjoyed reading about the secondary characters - Lee's brothers all sound brilliant and I was so pleased to learn at the end of this book, that they would have their own stories.
