... I really did enjoy reading this book and getting to know the main characters as well as the minor characters written into the story. The anguish of the Duke and the sensibilities of his bride were good and I had to keep turning the pages to find out what was going to happen to them next! Unfortunately, for me the 'spoiler' was the rather abrupt ending! I felt there should, perhaps, have been a prologue in which they both declare their love for one another and that they had had, after all the sadness they experienced, the son (and heir) or daughter, that they both so desperately wanted.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was a real page turner, but I was left disappointed with the abrupt ending too, plus it left a couple of questions unanswered....one as to her father's will (which would lead to what might have then happened to her stepmother etc) and secondly the reason behind the twins separation....or did I miss something? I feel the ending was done in a rush, which was such a pity...and drops it to 4 stars for me.

Fantastic piece of work, strong characters and solid storyline. Great attention to detail, creating wonderful atmosphere and lots of deapth of emotion. The spark between the main characters were good, the beginning and ending where very abrupt though. X

A stand alone novel but part of a series of romances set in Regency England.
I was already curious about the male lead from his appearances in other books by this author, so was very pleased to be able to read his own story. Many of the characters have obviously some background which isn't all made clear in this book, and some of the issues raised in this book are left open ended, maybe to be completed in following books. It probably is best if you read the whole series in chronological order. However this book is a very satisfying read. The main characters are well developed, as is the very exciting storyline.

I really loved reading this book. The ending was too abrupt for my liking and I also would have liked to have know what was said in the will that Leandra's brother was trying so hard to find. I will be reading this book again but after I have read the story's of Levi/Rory and Adam/Bri as I think they run in some order and would like to find out how the characters are known to each other before the book of Heartless.
