Product Description

Set in rural North Yorkshire during the 1960s, Heartbeat's combination of crime and medical storylines, charismatic regular characters and wonderfully nostalgic soundtrack made it staple Sunday-night viewing for two decades, with the series' many prestigious awards including Best Performing Peak-Time Drama and several ITV Programme of the Year awards. Attracting a peak audience of 14 million, Heartbeat has garnered a devoted following and remains prime-time viewing world-wide.

This series sees the marriage of Sgt. Merton and pharmacist Jenny Latimer, with PC Steve Crane tackling a wide range of cases while putting his role as Community Liaison Officer into practice. PC Bellamy plays the waiting game with Gina, Vernon comes to terms with life with - and without - his fortune, and the series reaches a dramatic climax when a bitter custody battle ends in tragedy.

What i enjoy about series 13 of Heartbeat is there is really not many changes at all. I mean we welcome Ben Norton & say goodbye to PC Steve Crane, but that's the lot, no more changes this time. But this series does have the epsidoe "Daniel" which is one of the most upsetting episodes of Heartbeat ever, while i don't want to give it a way, make sure you have chocolate & a pack of tissue as you will need it!Read more ›

Over the 19 years Heartbeat ran, there was never a bad episode, acting and story lines were brilliant, not to mention the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors where the series was set and filmed. Add in the 60;s era with all that great music on the sound track and the combination of all these factors made for exceptional TV viewing . ITV made a big mistake when they dropped Heartbeat . This DVd is worth buying, especially if you are a fan.

All of the Heartbeat series so far have been of the highest quality in Acting, Production & Directing. Heartbeat is by far the best country police series that has been on tv.

It's such a shame that ITV closed their Leeds studios, bringing this long running series to an end. I've stayed in Goathland (Aidensfield) several times, and it was always interesting to see them filming the series there. The recordings are of very high quality.

I cannot find enough words to say about the entire series, thus far--great family viewing, great characters, and funnily enough--as much as you like certain characters--even when they leave the show you do not miss them, because the writing and replacements are so great. I just keep buying until I run out of available DVD's and sadly will have to find another series by next year to collect.

The only problem I have with Heartbeat is the music continuing when people are talking, its becoming very annoying, they do fade it out but not quickly enough, the show itself is very good all the actors are believable too,its a pity they dont bring it back as I think people would love to see new episodes obviously not all the old cast would be in it Vernon for one ,as the actor sadly died, and other cast members moved one to other things, but a new cast and also set in the late sixties leading to the early seventies, would work,..........

Everyone of the Heartbeat series is a winner. The story line is always original and heart warming, all the main casts in the series complement each other and their acting is second to none. As a person of Chinese origin from Singapore, my husband is astonished by how much I appreciate the sentiment and the culture.
