Out of the blue, her brother, Josh requests a favour of her: can she rent stable space to Mick Fury (a childhood friend) for a while? Just until he fixes his stables up, see? Because he lost his in a landslide.
Laura says yes, and meets Mick Fury, and the attraction is instantenous. Mick is mad, bad and dangerous to know, and Laura finds herself swept up in him, but has to deal with her two girls and the emotional storm clouds that threaten to gather.
I recommend this book because it's a great basic, bread-and-butter romance. There is no killer on the loose, no mystical hocus pocus. It's rare that you find romance novels like this nowadays, where the writer trusts the reader to take the characters on board, not needing the ADD of guns and spells and magick. The emotion is so pure at times, it shimmers from the page, and this book is just as good as book one (with Margo).
Well worth the read, highly recommended.
I bought this for my kindle for my holiday and I read all three books to this triology in 3 days by the pool I just couldnt put them down like all of her books I have read before.
This book focuses on a women with two daugthers who finds out her husband is cheating on her and the struggles she has ending her 10 year marriage to the only man she has been in love with while trying to protect her daughters from a father who isn't interested in being a father - with a suprise visit from an old friend of her brother that makes her re-think so things
How the "ambitious and mercenary" Darcy and the "efficient businessman" Trevor cope with finding that they are capable of love after all - and with the added complication of Prince Carrick, impatient to be free of his own 300 year old spell - makes an entertaining and satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. I agree that it is not among the author's more exciting books, (some of them are rather too exciting for me!), but even in her gentler moods she has a special talent for blending passion with humour, and the mundane with the unexpected. Her decriptive passages are also well worth a second reading. (This brings the score to two disappointed reviews and two enthusiastic ones - It'll be interesting to see which way any further reviews go!!)
The theme of each book is different but with a thread running through them. They lost nothing of their power in reading them again.
Roberts is as always a first class author and these books are an absolute 'must read'
She is an excellent author, I love the story lines, and I love that everything is in 3's I love a series of books and with a triology you have that without having to many books to read to finish off a series.
Perfect thing to take away with you and read by the pool!
