About the Author

T.K. Leigh, otherwise known as Tracy Leigh Kellam, is the USA Today Best Selling author of the Beautiful Mess series. Originally from New England, she now resides in sunny Southern California with her husband, dog and three cats, all of which she has rescued (including the husband). She always had a knack for writing, but mostly in the legal field. It wasn’t until recently that she decided to try her hand at creative writing and is now addicted to creating different characters and new and unique story lines in the Contemporary Romantic Suspense genre. When she’s not planted in front of her computer, writing away, she can be found running and training for her next marathon (of which she has run over fifteen fulls and far too many halfs to recall). Unlike Olivia, the main character in her Beautiful Mess series, she has yet to qualify for the Boston Marathon.

I am struggling to find the words to express how I feel about this book. It was an incredibly emotional read and a very shocking read, dealing with subject matter that most of us would have an inkling about but not really understand. But what sets this apart from others is that everything that happens is crucial to the story and our understanding of the issue. It is dealt with in an incredibly sensitive way and we are left to imagine the horrors that Jolene faces.

I completely and utterly admire the strength that Jolene has. The courage that she shows in escaping from the horrors of her daily life to the strength in starting over and trusting people again. The need and desire to live again and the feistiness that she shows with Cam make her an admirable character.

Cam, OMG, what a man! He was amazing with Olivia in helping her back to Alex, even though it destroyed him and he is so much better with Jolene. His reluctance to get involved with anyone after Olivia, produces a less than Cam-like performance when he first meets Jolene. It is the strength of character that Jolene shows in dealing with and the fact that he can truly see her through the windows to her soul that we see the compassionate, amazing man that Cam is.

I loved Olivia and Alex's story but this one is so much better. Cam has to be the man that every woman hopes to find and his strength is in making women feel truly good about themselves and understanding them. Jolene has been a horrific ordeal but she has come out stronger and more determined. This is deserving of more than the five stars I can give. It made me think about a subject I had probably not really thought about while still delivering a beautiful, emotional romance story that made me smile.

Holy Effin S**t!

It seems like I've been waiting forever in anticipation since the ending of Leigh's A Beautiful Mess Series, to finally have the story of....Cameron Bowen....SWOON!

Once again Leigh has proven to us, the readers, what an amazing author she truly is and that her abilities to write such brilliant page turners are under-rated.....personally I feel she doesn't get the recognition that she truly deserves, and I am blessed to be one of the lucky few bloggers on her street-team :)

My heart broke little for Cam in ABM, he swooned and swayed, but ultimately wasn't the one for Olivia unlike the ever-so-panty-dropping Alexander Burnham....

Jolene has had a life changing experience whilst growing up, She was forced into a life that none of us can imagine and is the unthinkable, a life where she wouldn't be able to find her way out for the foreseeable future, so escaping to a small beach town seemed promising, if she could just go with the flow and keep her head down and not get to know anyone she might be able to hide.

"Do you promise you'll never hurt me?" Her voice nearly broke his heart. "Never. I want to help you come back from your darkness. I want to be the light in your life. Even if my presence is the only light, I want to be that for you." She reached for him, clutching his hand in hers."

Cam.....oh my dear Dr Cameron Bowen....what am I to do with you...reeling from his loss of love in Olivia (Burnham's Bitch, I say this with good intentions) he's flung himself into his work...he too has demons from his past, which I am looking forward to reading of in Heart Of Marley

Cam will stick with your heart and make you appreciate kindness and patience all over again....

A courageous story of someone running away from a horrific life to try and begin to live again. That's the case for Jolene after spending 12 years of her life in human trafficking- the story doesn't go into too much detail about this, which I felt meant the storyline was handled very sensitively.

Whilst running from her past she meets Cam and although their first meet isn't pleasant, there is a chemistry and spark between them. This story then takes on a two-fold approach; firstly to relationship between Jolene and Cam and secondly what happens when the past keeps catching up with Jolene.

A lovely read and glad it was a standalone. Only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars was at time I didn't feel things matched up (eg couldn't touch but could talk openly about sex) and certain bits were a bit unrealistic. However I still very much enjoyed the read.

Wow.. What a book! T.K. Leigh has once again given us a completely brilliant page turner. If you're looking for suspense, heartache and romance wrapped in one heck of a read then look no further.

I fell in love with Cam after reading the Beautiful Mess series and was so glad that he was going to get his own book. Cam is a character that you love to read about. He is an all round great guy. He is a surfer boy who is sweet, caring, protective and when he falls in love with someone, he gives his all. After falling in love with someone who didn't love him back, he is a little hesitant to get close to someone this time round. However, after meeting Jolene, he is helpless to resist her and wants to know everything about her. He can tell she is broken and wants to help her. The more he is with her, the harder he falls. How will he handle it when her secrets are revealed?

Jolene has had a very, very tough life. One that I don't think a lot of people can comprehend. When she is given a chance at freedom, she grabs it and gives it her all. Cam is very unexpected in her life but could be the very thing that she is missing. She wants to experience life and can see her future with Cam. But is she really free? What will happen when her life catches up with her?

I have to fully commend T.K. Leigh for tackling a subject that most would steer clear of. I think the way it is handled is perfect. You experience it from all of those involved, looking into all the perspectives. The victim, the enforcers and the other people in their lives who are affected by it one way or another. It is a hard subject to read about and at times you're wondering, can they really get past this? Will they get their happy ending?
