I received my copy yesterday and have already made one of the dishes (Leek and crunchy carrot gratin) and it was easy to follow and really delicious. I like Belinda’s preambles to the recipes which gives you a real sense of her personal involvement in them.
I am following 5:2 and will find this book very useful - and not only on fast days.
I am flicking backward and forward to work out a days sensible eating why not sections on Brekfast,lunch and dinner?? So many nice meals but some/ a lot seem quite high in calories( unless I eat one meal a day)
Lavishly illustrated throughout with photographs of the dishes and also those of fruit and vegetables that have the gravitas of a Dutch Renaissance still life, Berry and her husband are photographers of considerable talent.
Her enthusiasm for cooking shines through in her choice of fresh ingredients with which she conjures up healthy meals influenced by cuisines from around the world. Her instructions are clear and practical with many helpful suggestions.
The much underused cauliflower comes into its own as a low calorie alternative to rice and mashed potatoes, recipes that are so simple yet so very clever.
You don't have to suffer the 'diet blues' if you have this book!
