Erotic but not romantic, though I think the love was there....
on 28 December 2009
I originally got this book from amazon itself, but it seemed as if it had been stored upright on a shelf for ages, as there was a bend to it, so it did not align properly, and also, the pages seemed slightly yellowed as if it was an old book. I returned it and obtained a prompt refund, but then decided to order it again through another supplier as I did still want to read it.
The book is features a male and female military type who have been tasked with watching over their commanding officer, who is recuperating from injury and who does not want anyone around him. In the past, the 2 males had been BSDM lovers/partners, but the commanding officer (sorry, can't remember the names) had been the very dominant, I-don't-talk-about-feelings type and they had split and had not really worked together since, but of course, when the duo make it to his isolated lodge, they are soaked to the skin and have to have a hot shower.
From this point on, it's M/F/M, M/M/F and M/M sex in abundant amounts and very graphic detail througgout, and for a short novel/slightly more than a novella, it certainly packs a punch. However, I have not kept it, as there was no clear HEA and no clear admission of love, and for me, a romance - erotic or vanilla - needs a HEA and love too.
I am sure that readers will not be disappointed if buying it for the subject matter, but perhaps so if focussing on the romance.
