Hawke is the 5th book in the Cold Fury Series, it can be read as a standalone but I would recommended reading all the previous books in the series as most of the characters all appear in each book.

Hawke is a little different from the other books in the series given that this is a second chance romance. I have to say that I'm a sucker for second chance romances so this book was perfect for me! Not that I haven't loved all the other books in this series, because I do, I just loved this one a little bit more.

Hawke and Vale dated in high school and college, for things to then take a turn for the worst and Vale breaks things off with Hawke, and he has no idea what went wrong that caused her to break things off.

7 years later and Hawke is now joining The Cold Fury team, which he is excited about, only to come face to face with Vale once again, who has just joined the Cold Fury's coaching staff.

Vale is working with the Cold Fury's coaching staff as its the best place for her to be because her father is sick, and he can get the best treatment possible where they are. She had no idea when taking the job that she would come face to face with the one man who would always have a piece of her heart.

Now that they have seen each other, all those buried feelings that they've both bottled up come rushing back, and there is no denying that they both still have feelings for each other. But with all second chance romances there is always the complication of working through why it is they broke up in the first place and hoping things work out in the end.

If you love a good sports romance, and second chance romance at that, then this is the book for you! Another great book to go with a really enjoyable series by Sawyer Bennett.

it was amazing

A great addition to the Cold Fury Series, a young love gone wrong Hawke not understanding why? years later fate intervenes. This really felt like real life, young couples not talking out a problem leading to years of uncertainty and misunderstanding. Vale is dealing with other things as well, with her Dad. I loved Hawke, you cant blame him for holding back a bit after all he didn't know what had happened. He just felt lost and heartbroken, never having got over the abrupt ending to their relationship. You don't get a lot of game play in this story, there are mentions of them and training but nothing more. This story is based more around Vale, Hawke and Dave (Vale's Dad) and the relationship between the three of them, its also about righting wrongs and understanding the whys. Its a nice smooth easy read, yes there are a few heavy topics involved as well but its not a deep or depressing book. Very enjoyable one to just sit down and relax into, forget about everything else and wallow in the story. It was a story I completely lost myself in and truly that's how I like my books most. Next up in the series is Max, and I cant wait. Well done Sawyer for another great book.

I like these series that are the rage now where we get to know a group of people, with each getting their own stand alone books. I like complete stories finished in one book, but with little glimpses of prior couples appearing here and there. This is why this series appealed. ..nice people, their own stories completed and the familiarity of other couples I've met in the other books in the series.

And this book was enjoyable but I can't give it more than 3 stars. But they're 3 good stars!

I liked her, I loved her dad, and I loved Hawke. Their back history warranted it's own book because I love second chances, but with all that had to be told and no matter how upset or sad or lonely the couple said they'd been, I never felt it. Their emotions were just never portrayed deeply enough. It's ok to say in any story " I'm heart broken", but it means nothing if the break isn't felt by a reader. There was just something lost in the translation from what the author wanted to say and how she said it in print.

I'm not BTW saying it's a bad book. not at all! Someone else might completely disagree with me, and such is how books effect us individually. It just didn't happen for me.

Hawke can be read as a standalone but I recommend you read it along with the other Cold Fury Hockey books, its based on second chances.

Hawke and Vale were together as teenagers but when Hawke hit the big time Vale broke his heart by leaving him but not without destroying herself as well. Hawke didn't look back and enjoyed a life of plenty, professional hockey, drinking and partying but what happens when he transfers to a new hockey team and to his surprise Vale also took a job working with them can they both let go of the past and work together or will it come back to bite them both.

Well that's for you to go find out this book is definitely worth 5 stars so go grab it and see what all the fuss is about with these HOT Hockey Players you wont be disappointed.

Another great read from Sawyer Bennett xx
