Foe anyone who has ever used large format polaroid sheet film you'll immediately understand the processes involved in shooting and developing this esoteric material. Damage is inherent in its production, with scratches and smudges often invading the image areas.
This is exactly what lends this material it's unique attraction.. each print is unique and unrepeatable. Cathleen Naundorf's images compliment the film stock perfectly. Haute Couture..eleborate, unrepeatable creations captured with impeccably composed photographs.
Quite cool, dreamy in execution. Very much a voyeurs glimpse into some private collusion between photographer and subject. I love her work and the book is well printed in both colour and monochrome...glad I bought it.

At first I felt Naundorf's photographs were a bit derivative of Moon and Turbeville, both 30 years older than Naundorf, but the photographs in this book are so completely spellbinding it's easy to forget the similarities and simply enjoy the beauty within.
'Haute Couture: The Polaroids of Cathleen Naundorf', does not only capture the viewer with the beauty on every page, the book is aesthetically gorgeous as well.
This book is breathtaking in every sense of the word...perfect.
