Louisiana is one of America's most haunted states. In this book you will be captivated by the intriguing tales of ghosts and paranormal activity. Along with the details of the ghosts there is a lot of interesting historical reference.

its an interesting and informative read.i thought it might have made more reference to the houses in the Garden District area of New Orleans.this being the area Anne Rice writes about in her vampire books.the only reference to this was to say that one house in the book was used in some scenes in the film Interview with the Vampire.nevertheless it was ok.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It takes you through all of Lousiana's haunted hot spots, and there's a lot more than I had expected. Definitley a great place for ghost hunters to go on holiday. A interesting, well written book, and I recommend it to you.

This story is not to be read at night or at all if you are of the squeamish persuasion. The author specifically draws our attention to ghost stories from Louisiana, a state in the U.S. This book highlights the history behind some of the famous landmarks in Louisiana. If you love been scared or simply like a good ghost story, I believe you'll like this.

...and I may never come out from under my bed. WOW! Talk about riveting and scary stuff. This book is jammed full of interesting stories. I am never even going to fly over Louisiana. What a great way to learn about stuff you would never have an opportunity to learn. Great job and a great book.

Do you love being scared? Want to see haunted places in person? Or do you just prefer to read about them? There are lots of places in Louisiana where you can see, hear and maybe even feel ghosts, shades (memories of events and people) or other haunts or paranormal activity in cemetaries, schools, hotels, inns, private homes and military sites. Sometimes the ghosts in this book follow sadness and sometimes violence. And there's more in the author's other book, Haunted Georgia: Ghost Stories and Paranormal Activity from the State of Georgia (Haunted States Series)

Doing ghost tours is a fun way to get to know a new region - or explore your hometown. When in Philadelphia I did the ghost tour of the old city - and in San Diego visited the Hotel Del Coronado and the infamous Whaley House. Although I haven't been to Louisiana in years, when I next visit this book will definitely be on my Kindle!

The book is well-organized with sections such as Haunted Plantations and Haunted Military Sites. Each site mentioned has the address, the background and the experiences of visitors or workers. Of all of the places mentioned, I have to say that the one I'm most looking forward to visit is the Old Baton Rouge General Hospital. That places sounds like it's creepy enough for the bravest ghost hunter!

HASH(0x8e20e378) out of 5 stars Great reference for haunted sites in Lousiana 22 May 2013

Haunted Louisiana consists of a number of stories about ghosts and paranormal activity in the state. As someone who has visited New Orleans on at least a dozen occasions over the years, I was interested to see which landmarks and neighborhoods the author would cite.

As expected, many of the haunted sites are in the French Quarter. I can affirm that place is fascinating and fun, but late at night there are energies that come out that are not of this world.

Le Pavillion Hotel, which sits two blocks away, is an historic hotel, which is reputed to be haunted by four ghosts. I'm in love with the décor and old world charm of this grand hotel, and while I've never experienced anything unusual while staying there, I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled the next time I visit!

I will definitely use this book to check out other haunted sites on my next trip.

HASH(0x8e213210) out of 5 stars Very scary stuff 9 April 2013

I used to live in New Orleans. I wish I had known then what I know now. I could have gone to visit some of the places mentioned in the book. This is an exhaustive list of places in Louisiana that are believed to be haunted and what makes the book so good is that the author tells us the story behind each one. I was engrossed right from the beginning. If you like things that go bump in the night, you'll enjoy reading this book and maybe even plan a trip to Louisiana to see them yourself.
