The only negative side is that it just include a limited number of poses and very few variations for those included in the book.
of development of Hatha Yoga student. Many, many postures, and important sections on breathing and its
anatomical needs. Invaluable.
Bought the 'Element: Hatha & Flow Yoga For Beginners' DVD by Tamal Dodge and this book. I tend to use the DVD once a week, generally on a Sunday Morning and the book after using the Davina DVD every day, there being a couple of stretches that I find easy enough as a beginner that stretch my arms, back and legs without staining myself or causing injury.
There is about 25 pages of introduction and every two pages has a new position, there being about 75 altogether which are grouped into 9 sections like balancing, twisting and relaxing, plus a section of routines utilising between 10 to 16 positions for anything from a warm up to building strength, stamina and flexibility. Each position tells you what part of the body benefits and shows an illustration of every move to get to the final position. I really like the Reclining Bound-Angle which is brilliant for relieving headaches and stress.
