A great intro to DnD for complete beginners
There is only one fault with this set and that is that the playing board pictures do not line up properly (as shown in photo)Aside from that, this is a great introduction for complete beginners. The characters are ore-mafe to choose from and it's an easy to follow one path with the occasional, optional one step diversion to meet an extra monster. My daughter quickly fell in love with the DnD world and we have since gotten the Essentials Kit as the next step but she can take this to friends houses for a short game that only lasts a couple of hours to do a couple of the boards. If you are a complete beginner and learning rules as you go, the game would take between 3-4 hours to complete. But as there are 4 boards, you can pause play easily at the end of one of the boards.Plenty of options for repeat play that give a different experience

This is a really great and super exciting family adventure board game that very neatly alludes to the essence of D&D games.
The game is very nicely presented with lots of cardboard accessories and colourful event and monster cards. A number of plastic accessories (4 characters and stands) are included was well as 4 20-sided dices and a 10-sided dice. The character and monster stands are brilliant in particular how they allow you to keep track of the hit points. This set up makes it quite easy for younger players to get acquainted with the D&D style of playing. The game is advised for players of 10-years or old, but our youngest at 7 absolutely loves it and is one of the most fanatic players at the table.
The instructions are brief and very clear and take you about 10 to 15 minute to go through. You just got to make sure that you sort the 4 groups of monsters and event cards that belong to each scenario and keep 3 of those apart.
The game lasts about an hour. And the few times we played it were full of excitement. Compared to D&D the emphasis is more on fighting and slaying monsters but that can be done in a small variety of ways and with lots of tools/upgrades. In fact, being able to upgrade you character in a simple manner throughout game is quite appealing. Despite the many rounds of fighting there are nice quizzes and challenging intermezzo’s as well. On the one hand its a shame that only 4 scenarios are included, but then again even if you play one twice the event s and outcomes will be very different.

I’ve been fascinated by D&D games since the late 70’s, tough I never had any others to play with. Now my family is gradually getting a hang of fantasy role play games through these board game D&D adaptations. We like to play Dungeon and Wildwood as well. I’ve also bought the D&D Wrath of Ashardalon, but that still is a little too demanding for our youngest

My family loves this game. We got it for my 7 year old who wanted to get into Dungeons and Dragons and it is now the favourite game of the whole family including my 5yr old and the grandparents! Very replayable, easy to pick up, it's co operative and the kids get to use their imaginations. It's got some very funny bits, is well written and illustrated. Nice that all the characters have masculine and feminine varieties to choose from too.

It's a really fab game and very reasonably priced. I only wish they made more games like this. Thoroughly recommend it.

Great introduction to D&D. I’ve always wanted to give it a try, so although it was bought for my son it was an experience for both of us. We also convinced his mum to play with us who came to it with the typical preconception that it was for geeks and she’d hate it. Very happy to say my son loved it, we all had a great time and my wife’s mind was thoroughly changed.
None of us were sure when we started but it must of been a good couple of hours and as someone who struggles with a 90min film and my son with ADHD it says a lot that those two hours passed without any of us thinking about the time. We’re excited to try the different play throughs and eventually try some of the more full on D&D when he’s old enough.

Item arrived with a squashed box unfortunately which is a shame as I think my son will keep it for many years

Bought this with trepidation to be honest as says for 10 plus and our boys are 7 and 8. However at only £12 I took a risk. Glad I did! We watched 9 minute video on YouTube of how to play and the kids seemed to know more than mum and dad! After a couple of rounds we were in the swing of things and had a great game and family time for the next few hours. We didn't swap DM like it suggested, as didn't want to complicate further. Some things could be clearer such as I presume you should pull the monster cards out separate for each board. We quickly ran out of items which by the end of the last board meant there was no point choosing to fight monsters as already full health, all items, and money to revive if die in final battle. Would be great to have an expansion for it.

Was really easy, not sure if any step between this and full DnD but feel they will quickly be ready after a few games of this.

Bought this to play with my kids (11 & 12) as a distraction from computer games and because I liked D&D as a kid, but feared that if I explained how to play D&D it would just turn the right off - what I found good was every player takes a turn being the dungeon master.
It was relatively easy and quick to pick up, with lots of replay value - and after a few turns my boys started getting very creative and imaginative with their descriptions and play when being the dungeon master or using a particular attack that requires you describe 'how' you are attacking. Character building was easy and lots of possible variations.
The only negative was that we were missing one stand which should be in the box, even though it was shrink wrapped. Regardless of this - plenty of replay value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Muy bien de precio para ser un Dungeon
Reviewed in Spain on 19 December 2022
