The vocabulary is varied and colourful, but at the same time has the repetitiveness that children like. The moral of the story is to be kind and helpful which is one of the nicest things to teach young children.
It is about helping someone and them in turn helping someone else. I like the simple way the story is told and the numerous illustrations are colourful and explain the text as you go along.
This is a great book for teaching young children about helping others and being unselfish.
The rhyming text will keep young children engaged and entertained. There is quite a bit of repetition which helps younger children to understand the concept of sharing and the examples of the different animals such as frog, bat, mole, rat, dog, cow and more making it fun.
It is all about Harry the mouse who starts off doing a good deed for someone and then instead of wanting a reward asks that the frog pays the kind deed forward. This then continues as each recipient pays it forward.
The book has a great moral tale for children to follow, showing that one good deed leads to another and you don't necessarily have to get something in return to feel good. It is a great lesson for all children.
I thoroughly recommend this book if you have children or grandchildren. It comes in Kindle form or paperback form.
Harry the Happy Mouse himself is adorable, and the illustrations are a delight throughout. Children will adore the illustrations and how the story develops to show when you offer help, you are rewarded back much more thus benefiting everyone.
Earlier today we read this story out to a group of 5 year olds and they adored the characters and the personalities coming through, and we had to read it again.
More from this author please.
This rhyming story is beautifully written, it's great to read out loud and my little ones had fun joining in with '...just give them a hand.' We also loved the cute and colourful illustrations by Janelle Dimmett; they really make it a special book. Now we're looking forward to the next book to see how far Harry the happy mouse can spread his magic.
I bought the other books about Harry the happy mouse which he also really enjoyed. Highly recommend for everyone to read.
