The Harris easy reach roller features a roller sleeve on a mini extension pole which will give you extra reach for higher walls or ceilings. It has a 2 part extension system with a twist and lock mechanism for easy use, and a foam handle which offers comfort. The sleeve is a 1.5” woven acrylic which gives a finer finish and greater coverage over budget sleeves. The sleeve can be removed and replaced enabling you to keep the frame for future use. This product includes 1 x 9” roller frame and 1 x 9” sleeve to complete any inside job using water based paints. Harris has been manufacturing fine quality decorating products since 1928 and you can visit our website for decorating advice.

Another problem is that the locking mechanism is not positive & sometimes comes undone in the middle of a stroke.
However all that said I did manage to paint 2 ceilings wihout a ladder & many walls.
I have now ordered more sleeves as I hate washing them & they are never as good 2nd time round
Unfortunately I neglected to measure the roller frame as it is sprung but now find the Harris sleeves that I bought from Amazon do NOT fit
The frame needs 1.5" bore sleeves & Amazon sells 1.75" bore sleeves
You'll obviously need a few more bits to do a room nicely, but for starting out these rollers are an excellent choice.
Happy with my purchase, if my current ones break or need replacing for any reason, I will buy again.
Does this item reach quite far? Yes, it has two simple extending mechanisms within, and you can reach a ceiling easy whilst flat-footed.
Does it apply paint AT THE SAME TIME as extending? Well I'm glad you asked, and the answer is YES, it certainly does!
So what's the flaw? Oh let me explain:
The way of extending this roller is to twist the secondary pole (within the handle), pull it out and twist back again. Then to extend further, twist the roller-frame, pull out and twist back again. So it's safe to say the locking mechanism is a simple screw-thread that binds. The issue is when you apply pressure to paint the walls. It doesn't happen immediately but it comes loose and then decides to close or extend, depending what you're doing and where you point it. So if you're applying pressure to the fully-extended pole overhead, it can slam shut, while the momentum of the action ensures the paint on the roller sleeve coats you and your dust sheets (or furniture if you're stupid).
Just looking at the picture, it makes sense that it would come loose, the steel bar frame comes out of the pole then only to one side, this means pressure on that side can either force the screw-thread tight or loose, and it's generally the latter.
So in conclusion, it's not an awful product, but it can be a chew on to use when the threads are used a few times.
I'm 6' and found this perfect for reaching our Victorian terrace ceilings comfortably - I would otherwise be stretching awkwardly, with lower chance of getting a smooth finish!
Roller has served well, cleans up nicely, and has left a smooth finish.
