Wow! It may take a while till my blood pressure drops! Reading this is like riding a runaway train whilst thinking you are about to witness a multi-car pile up. I couldn't envisage a HEA and I'm impressed that Meli Raine could weave the threads of this story to form one. We all deserve it! It's not often that I curse (the bad guys in my head) so loudly, feel my heart throbbing so strongly whilst reading yet this is one of those books where you just don't see that coming (!) so you can't put it down until you've read every single word. Amazing.

A Harmless Little Plan spectacularly highlights the truly incredible and wondrously resilient core of the human being while never failing to deliver on the brilliantly intellectual mystery and highly combustible passion that Meli Raine is known for. While we cannot withstand everything that comes our way, we can with love and hope rise again from the ashes. Only with that breathtakingly intimate and seeringly powerful bond can we even hope to find our way back from the brink of non-existence and utter madness. Few stories have stretched the boundaries so thin and yet presented us with such a marvelous perspective of the utter beauty of humanity against the backdrop of a cold and ruthless world.

Drew never realized just how deep and treacherous the force against Lindsay was until now. No one can hide or escape from the reach of this evil masterplan. With everything on the line that he loves, he will push every boundary and cross every line in order to save Lindsay. He will not allow her to go through the same hell or worse if he can help it. With his back firmly against the wall in an impossible choke hold, he is forced to trust against his better judgment. Will he able to pull Lindsay out of this never ending nightmare before it’s too late, or will all of his hard won efforts end up being nothing but a waste of time?

The conclusion to this phenomenal trilogy never let up on the high strung tension or the wonderful steamy heat. This was the perfect way to bring this epic storyline to a fantastic finish. If I didn’t already love Drew, Lindsay, Silas, and Mark, then I definitely fell hard for them this time around. They were so amazing to watch in action, and they simply took my breath away.

Be sure to read A Harmless Little Game and A Harmless Little Ruse before reading this.

What a finale to the Harmless trilogy! I could not put it down and read it in less than 3 hours!

The story continues from the dramatic ending to A Harmless Little Ruse, where Lindsay was taken by someone pretending to be Mark Paulson (Drew's friend) and Drew is in custody for stalking Lindsay.

The story was intense from the start. Lindsay kidnapped again by those three fiends. Drew in turmoil over who he can trust and racing against the clock as he realizes what they plan to do. Drew's plan is brilliant.

I was captivated from start to finish, and experiencd many emotions while reading. The hatred towards Lindsay's mother grew! My god that woman! Grrr. I felt anguish for all the victims of the game and needed the villains to suffer!

I thought that the way the story unfolded was great, how we learned more about who was in control, making the demands and why. Oh, and the incident with the knife - talk about karma.

The way that Lindsay was portrayed after it was all over was believable and I really felt for her. Her emotions shot and needing to be far away in her mind to protect herself. Her parents annoyed me so much! I wanted to hit them! But I loved Drew for his supportive and understanding nature and how he didn't give up on her.

I really enjoyed this trilogy. I would have liked vengeance on her so called 'friends' who lied to the media/police 4 years earlier!

I was thrilled that the story ended with the beginning of Drew and Lindsay's future together. Though I am saddened that there is no more Drew and Lindsay 3.

I thought the last book was a 90 mile an hour thrill ride. Well, this book is the world’s tallest roller coaster, the kind with corkscrews and dark tunnels and areas that pitch you upside down… on an endless loop. It's a ride you can't get off of, and believe me, you won't want to. This book grabs you on page one and just never lets go. I personally was hooked after the first few words, and I remained riveted to the very last page. These characters are so real and raw and so unapologetically imperfect that you just can't help but relate to them. I found the characters of Drew and Lindsay to be especially inspirational, the way they persevered in the wake of such cruelty and degradation. This book is about many things… narcissism and political aspirations and family dynamics and cruelty and guilt and forgiveness and metamorphosis, but at its core, this book is about love and hope. This is the kind of book you just can't put down. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet and suspenseful read.

*I was given an ARC of this book by the author and voluntarily chose to review. All opinions are my own.
