If you looking for sound quality and cinema experience in your home - THIS IS IT! Before I bought this I listen music and watched movies on Bose system - but lack of airplay, youtube, connections and finally is over priced ( in my opinion Bose - have good deep bass range and is perfect as a entry level - music amateurs that wants to splash lots of money for mid quality- but all depends what you like). Hear that Harman Kardon is much better and I decided to give a go and try.
First impression: very well packed, quality and contemporary/ stylish look (especially subwoofer and remote control)
Second Impression: Quality of picture and sound (once set manually) is more than I expected. The sound is crisp, live and mid and low range is powerful enough for 2.1 system - thanks to satellite speakers that have 3 ways speakers each that covers sound from mid and high range. In terms of subwoofer the bass is rich and dynamic but could go little dipper like Bose does ( but I think is designed to cope with action movie where activity of the low frequency is active and vast). The sound on full volume! is CRISTAL CLEAR! -- as long as you set subwoofer for mid volume and have living room of size more than 20 square meters ( to appreciate sound on highest volume settings - otherwise you must put ear defenders cause is loud !!!).
Third Impression: Setting up system (speakers distance etc.) - do it manually otherwise you might have echo sound between 2 satellites when use automatic settings and that fancy EQ mic. I have contacted support HArman Kardon (use their webside) and explained problem - had reply within 48 hours to set everything on manual, they said also that technical department works on newest software that will resolve problem with speakers automatic calibration - will be soon released . I did that and works perfectly no problem in last 3 weeks. More than that Harman Kardon offers ( on webside) new software that you can download via USB port (piece of cake)
At least, I would highly recommend that system to everyone that looks for stylish high quality 2.1 cinema sound system to living room that does not cost more than £1000.
