Cade needed to find out who her father really was so she moved from New Jersey to Vancouver to find the man she believed to be her father. That man was Mac who owned Mackinley Security. He treated Cade very badly but gave her a job anyway. He finally gave her an assignment to be the bodyguard of a rock star's daughter. She was so happy to get the high profile assignment that she didn't let the idea that she was more like a babysitter than bodyguard bother her.

Cade was a bodyguard to Harley - a very, very mature 8 year old of the famous rock star, Jax Clark. Jax had just gotten full custody of his daughter and didn't know how to raise a child but he wanted to learn. Harley was glad to be away from her mother since she treated her more like a personal assistant than a daughter and was a terrible person who was constantly going off the deep end when things didn't go her way.

Even though Cade had no experience with children she got along with Harley great and they formed a strong bond. She understood Harley better than her father did so she was soon able to bring her out of her shell so she acted like herself - an 8 year old girl.

I loved the characters, especially Harley. It was nice to see her get to be a child and have a friend to confide in. Jax was happy with his rock star life with the fame and women but he was ready to be a father to his daughter an settle down. He was a kind and thoughtful man. Even though Cade was going through her own problems she put them aside to be there for Harley and be her bodyguard.

I smiled and cried while reading Harley but I also laughed. This is a wonderful story that's well written and fast paced. It wasn't what I expected from a rock star romance at all but I really enjoyed it. I also liked the way Jax and Cade's relationship built up.

I liked Harley and glad I won it in a giveaway. You should read this book. You won't be disappointed.

One look at the steaming hot guy on the cover of this book was enough to draw me in .. without reading the blurb I assumed that the hunk was called Harley. Anything for a bad boy .. he has it all, piercings, tattoos, good looks so I figured there would be a great romance happening.
It turns out however that he is Jax .. a mega hot rock star. Harley is in fact his eight year old daughter! Now a bad boy with a child is even more alluring. Her mother has issues, Harley has had to grow up incredibly quickly and she can be a bit precocious.

Enter Cade .. the lady hired to be her bodyguard/babysitter .. the relationship that forms between the two is quite sweet and inevitably Harley thinks she can manufacture a romance between Cade and her Dad. Cade has her own reasons for not getting involved, she is on a mission to discover the truth about her own father.

It’s nicely written, Harley definitely takes the central role although I’m not sure that was the intention. It’s the first in a series so it will be interesting to see what develops next.

Thanks to the author and Xpresso Book Tours for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.

I've been looking forward to reading Harley for sometime now. And I can thankfully say that the patience has paid off (plus the paperback version is a gorgeous addition to my book shelf!)

Michelle's writing and way with words really brings the story of Cade, Jax and Harley to life and it's a thrilling, emotional, and in some places steamy read that I couldn't put down, nor did I want it to end.

There is sizzling chemistry between Cade and Jax (who by the way is so very swoon-worthy) and I really enjoyed the build up in their relationship.

But what I was very surprised to enjoy the most was actually the sweet relationship that Cade builds with Harley, Jax's 8 year old daughter. It's testament to Ms Quinn's writing that I ended up feeling just like Harley, wishing and hoping that the two highly influence adults in her life would have a HEA together.

I can't wait to see what's next in store for the West Coast Rock Star series - here's hoping it'll feature members of Jax's band ;)
