I was lucky enough to be given a promo copy of this and I've worn it out!
I can't believe it's not being released until February.
The CD starts with the Van Morrison / Water boys influenced " Map OF The World", which sets the tone for the rest of the CD.
If the songs don't grab you, then you're beyond help.
Savoretti follows in the footsteps of Ian McNabb in that he manages to out - Americanise the Americans- There are touches of Dylan in his poetic lyrics, flashes of Jackson Browne in the simplicity of the arrangements, the ghost of Springsteen's "Nebraska" era sparse approach is also present.=, but he remains firmly "English" in the restrained presentation of the album, 10 songs, performed with passion, no filler, no unnecessary instrumental excesses, nor vocal histrionics..
If you are familiar with Martin Stephenson's songs, are on nodding terms with Jesse Malin's works or have a fleeting interest in Fleet Foxes and Paolo Nutini's take on US Folk, then take a deep breath ,dive in and wrap these songs around you, You'll not regret the time invested.
All 10 tracks stand as individual testimonies to the songwriter's skill in making it sound effortless and unforced.

7]Russian Roulette 10/10
8]Breaking News 8/10
9]Harder than Easy 9/10 Who's the girl?

It's very good, Jack's voice is paramount, which is good. I'll have to listen a few more times to decide if it is better, or worse, or just as good as his first.
Watch this space!

It extremely hard to improve on 'Between the Minds' and I doubt that Jack will ever do so. Jack has improved his breathing whilst singing, no doubt through tuition and it would be worthwhile re-recording some of his old numbers on future albums. His musically creative story telling is clever and hard to surpass. He is a true song smith and troubadour a rarity in this age of catchy tunes and meaningless lyrics. He has enormous talent and I just hope that music industry critics just find time to really sit down and listen.

Having seen Jack supporting Grabrielle Aplin I was impressed enough to buy his latest offering "Before The Storm" on the night I saw him. Enjoyed that album and subsequently bought his first album "Between the Minds" which I personally rate the best. However, both albums tempted me to complete the full set of Jack's work. I have not been disappointed with any of the albums and would highly recommend.

Having seen Jack in Southsea, Portsmouth last year we decided that we liked the sound of his back catalogue and bought this. Great buy -- it has melodic and uplifting tunes. A truly gifted singer/songwriter.

This is a great follow up to Jack's first great album I have no idea why on earth it is not avaiable on general release, you can however get it from Amazon.com as a CD on demand copy which is a great service and far more cost effective than the costs from the current sellers on Amazon UK, in fact it is a bargin buying it this way, don't miss out on a great 2nd album from Jack, 10 great songs from a very talented and unique musican.
