If you are looking for the greatest hits of Pete Seeger then this is a good collection to consider.
There are familiar songs such as "where have all the flowers gone", "Wimoweh", "If I had a hammer", "the bells of Rhymney", "putting on the style", "kisses sweeter than wine", and " hard travelling." And there are a few traditional songs such as "hold on", "pygmy tune", "when I first came to this land", "dinks song", "red river valley" and Meadowland, to name just a few.
Generally speaking this is a good cross section of tracks that are both familiar and less familiar and a good representation of the outstanding contribution to the American folk music revival.
Pete Seegar has had a long career, forming the Almanac singers and the Weavers, being involved in political issues with politicised folk songs and working as a solo folk singer. He has a simplistic and original performance style
The tracks on this compilation are interesting and varied. And they are drawn from his many fine recordings made for folkways records in the 1950s and 1960s. There are some early versions of some of his most popular recordings and it is a very good programme of tracks.

Not for everyone but if you want to hear history calling out to you from the murky dephs of time then this collection of American folk music will have you looking for your banjo and your peace placard. A lot of the 'message' songs are nieve and simple but set against the times that Seeger lived through they make a nostelgic sense.

OLD fashioned CD would remind you of a 45 rpm record from yesteryear. Good product and no problem transaction. at all.
