About the Author

Wendy has a Masters in Social Work and worked in the child welfare field for twelve years before she decided to pursue her dream of writing. Her first two books, Fractured and Mama Said were published in 2011 and 2012. Mama Said was a finalist in the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence Contest. She self-published The Christmas Curse in 2012. Between teaching college classes, trying to get her morbidly obese cat to slim down, and tempering the will of her five-year-old granddaughter, who's determined to become a witch when she turns six so she can fly on her broom to see the Eiffel Tower and put hexes on people—not necessarily in that order—somehow Wendy still manages to fit in writing. She spends the remainder of her days inflicting mayhem on her hero and heroine until they beg for mercy.

Loved the story, and I am sure that Wendy Byrne loved writing it. Although she no doubt needed a good recovery period, having completed the task! Reading a story that somebody enjoyed writing is seldom an imposition, and this story was a pleasure to read. I really liked Wendy’s relaxed approach to words, and this went so far as to the inclusion of the brand new ‘baboomed’. Great word, and although this was the very first time I had come across it, the meaning was very clear. No doubt dictionaries the world over will need to add this in due course. This relaxed approach to words did not mean that grammar has been totally abandoned, and it was a real treat to read words such as ‘piqued’ used (and spelt!) correctly.

While the plot is simply impossible these days, it is not too much of a stretch of the imagination, and the fantastical elements in no way detracted from the story line. I thought that Sabrina was very believable, and that her insecurities made her a more credible butt-kicker. Disappointed to get to the end, but hope there will be more to come.

Now Sabrina Shaw and her brothers are free of the undercover Eastern European organisation that trained them as assassins from childhood. She has joined a company called The Alliance, which specialises in rescuing kidnap victims and hostages. While searching for a missing teenager, Sabrina uncovers evidence that the girl was enticed from home via an internet contact and taken abroad. Posing on the website as a potential victim, Sabrina lands up a prisoner of the organisation she is trying to penetrate, but with her training she is much better equipped to fight than the average prisoner! Toss in an FBI agent who has also infiltrated the organisation and dramatic chases, raids, escapes and releases follow fast and furious. An excellent read, and I look forward to the other books in the planned trilogy.

I read this for Hooked On Books

This is an exciting & fast passed story. Sabrina Shaw & her two brothers were raised in an unorthodox way, they are trained assassins.
When Sabrina takes on a case alone to find a missing girl, all hell breaks loose & she finds herself in the middle of a human trafficking & in danger.
This story is full of exciting twists & turns & really has you on the edge of your seat.
I love Sabrina, she is a real kick-ass woman, such a great strong character.
I am so looking forward to reading #2 in this series.

Love, love, love this book! Sabrina, who has been trained as a killer, is helping to find a kidnapped girl, Caitlyn, by going undercover and being kidnapped herself by the traffickers. However it seems it will be harder than she thought to break free and find Caitlyn, and break the ring she has fallen victim to.
Along the way she finds the help of Kane, an FBI agent, who she feels she might be falling for, if only she can let down the barriers a trained killer has to put up.
Full of suspense, action, and sexual tension, this is a real page turner.

Hard to Kill was very hard to put down. Completely different to my usual reads. Action packed mystery, suspense & romance from beginning to end. Sabrina Shaw and Kane are the main characters trying to stop girls being trapped into human trafficking. Sabrina is mainly looking for Caitlyn Collins but comes across others girls abducted too.

" I finished it in one day, couldn't put it down!! "
