Still a loyal follower though.
Quinn is her Father's daughter, stepping into his shoes to keep a roof over their heads and their family garage open for business. The loss of her mother has left a gaping hole in their family that her father fills with alcohol. Trying to keep everything together Quinn valiantly goes to battle each and every day to keep everything she loves crumbling to dust. A father drowning in grief, a business with too many employees, not enough income and too many debts Quinn is in a cycle of desperation until a vulture swoops in....taking everything she holds dear.
Tazen Watts knows what he wants and takes it. A self made man he builds custom cars and has his own TV show following his successful career. A jackass as he is a media hit with fangirls where ever he goes, Tazen is egotistical and uber confident in his talents. He wants Pixie Wheel's, it's in an ideal location and cheap...so he takes full advantage. Sweeping in and making the deal breaking Quinn's heart in the process. She refuses to disappear without a fight and makes him regret his cavalier attitude. Quinn goes in full guns blazing each and every day worming her way under his skin. The more time they spend together the more they break down the facade they have perfected.
Appearances and first impressions can be deceptive and this story is a melting pot of raw emotion. Dealing with loss, addiction and the bonds of loyalty and family that runs thicker than blood. Quinn is a remarkable leading lady, quirky and independent she never gives up in her pursuit to keep her family together.Read more ›
After being in a bit of a slump with the last Bella jewel book I find myself catapulted back into the greatness that she is. This was more up my alley and held my attention far more than the previous in this series. I love Bella Jewel, she writes consistently well and here she proves that.
It may possibly have been the subject matter here that I liked, true enough we have the pre-requisite harder woman, who digs her heels in and makes a life for herself. That is the theme of this series, but I found Quinn that little more special. I really loved her; she had that spunk and sass that I can so identify with. Her alpha male was just that, as alpha as they come. And I quite liked Tazen too.
So I can see the reviews are a mixed bag on this and I totally get that, each to their own and all, but for me I enjoyed it, read it straight through, nothing confused me and it seemed like a decent all round read that you could lose yourself in for a little while. I just read this, didn’t take notes for review purposes as I liked it that much. However it lacked that all-consuming something that makes me hand out my 5’s. Hopefully next time. Recommended as always.
This was quite a quick read for me. I really enjoyed it and I can't wait to see where Bella Jewel takes us next!
Quinn and Tazen had such an intense connection, you could feel the tension through the pages! The games they played in the beginning had me in stitches at times.
Quinn was such a tough character, she has had to deal with the death of her mother and her father turning to alcohol to cope with his loss. I loved her sass and the way she didn't let anyone beat her down. I really liked the fact that she was a mechanic and was proud of that fact! She wasn't the least bit girly and I think that's why I related to her so well.
Tazen was such a jerk in the beginning but I have to admit I fell in love with him about half way through this story. I loved how he called Quinn Angel!
There were a few things I would have liked cleared up a little more in this book but I loved how it all ended up!
Bella Jewel has give me a hot alpha male that i love to hate, in the beginning Tazon was a jerk that i never thought i would warm too, but then slowly but surely i ended up loving him.
Quinn is a grease monkey a down to earth girl who has grown up in her dad garage, she has been around cars her whole life and will fight for what is hers, she is feisty and has no intention of letting Tazon walk all over her to get what he wants.
This is a love hat relationship between Quinn and Tazon and i loved it. The plot is hot sexy and full of fast cars my dream kind of a book.
Hard to Break is fun romantic and sexy read and i enjoyed it, i will for sure be looking for other titles in this series.
loved the characters, they really were well written. this book is the second in the series but can be read as a stand
alone book. this book contains hot steamy scenes, drama and some humour mixed together producing a page turning book

Really enjoyed this book, it certainly is very HEA. The twists and turns were more muted. I have been kept entertained and had my emotions sparked a number of times though. Read morePublished 19 months ago by GLah
