4.0 out of 5 stars An unconventional take on all we hold dear. 26 Feb. 2016

Though the books are a heavy read and feel 'slow' at times, you probably need to take your time with them to absorb it all. There are horror moments and it's nice to have some scares in a fantasy novel, as many titles seem too light at times. The reveal is slow and surprising but also satisfying. I'm always moved by the melding of ancient myths and legends with a healthy dose of mysticism. It might even blow your mind. Pick it up: you won't regret it!

Very good writing, it does lead to ever more books in the series, but as a stand alone, I liked it. A good way to spend an evening.

4.0 out of 5 stars well done 21 April 2016
By robert c - Published on Amazon.com

I thought that I had reviewed this already but I keep getting email requests to review so I guess not. I read this a while ago so my recall may be off a bit. I liked the book and its combination of ancient history, adventure, and science fiction (well mostly the latter). If you like this genre, I think that you'll like this read by an author who has certainly done a remarkable number of things in his life. After a break, I may return for another book by this author.
