I'm not usually the type to pick up a book like this. However, being recently single and a little unsure about what that means anymore, I sought out something to read. What I liked about this book is the layout. Liz uses personal experiences and those of others to make it more of a conversation. She manages to find opinions on `being single' from a variety of different situations and as a result I think makes her material more accessible. Whatever your situation though, Liz has a fundamental message, and that is how to approach `happiness' as a single person. Her examples are especially good for those who haven't experienced being single for some time. This is a very human book that made me feel more confident about my situation without preaching.

As a lifestyle coach, I totally recommend this book to anyone who has become single for any reason. It is a bible of emotional and practical self sufficiency techniques - the ideal deterrent to falling prey to feelings of 'any port in a storm'.

I recently was looking to get out of a relationship I was in but was a bit scared about what I would face. I read this book hoping to get an objective opinion from someone that wasn't already in my life in order to gear myself up to take the leap. The author takes examples from many women (including herself) and men who choose to be single and explores why they made the choice and how it works for them. The author presents a lot of anecdotal information which, even if you're not looking for advice, is interesting to read and reflect on. Not all of her examples related to my situation but a nice confidence-boost without spending too much money.

Yes great book free from political spin and UK fairtales of Hollywood relationships . When I first read this gem it was the Bliar era regime where he and the establishment were talking of UK being a land of opportunity and home of the brave etc and encouraging sheeple to go to university and or training courses from everything to sports science , public services , forensic science and special security management and thousands (it seems) of art courses etc . USA is land of opportunity and not constrained to class barriers , so UK can be too , was the fairy tales spun by Bliar . This came around late 90s -early to mid 2000s =less sheeple thinking of marriage , mortgages and babies with welfare payments as they flocked to school to become fashion designers , artists , close protection consultants and athletic peak performance consultants in the UK closely fed as to possibilities by Bliar , UK schools , careers counsellors and US tv over eastenders etc . Reality bite big time with these courses not having jobs in the UK or open to about 5 % . The Bliar regime fast re marketed , re packaged UK jobs with fancy titles with low paid call center work packaged as legal , sales and marketing , and finance lol . The special security jobs turned out to be supermarket security and CCTV watchers . The psychologist posts turned out a few opportunities for thousands applying etc .
The sheeple flocked back into their relationships to make up for their jobs and sooner than later to fill those voids and get some money from the gov and or get out of work they had babies in abundance so back to square one . Now you just need to look around to see the miserable faces of the UK sheeple stuck in relationships and marriages with tax benefits from the gov .
