The Happy Handbook is immensely readable, with such straight forward, practical writing that it can be picked up and delved into as and when the need arises. It doesn't seem to matter which page the book opens on- all pages include either inspirational quotes; sensitive insight into debilitating mental health conditions or simple and effective ways to change the small things that quickly become habits.
What are especially helpful are the bullet point checklists at the end of each chapter which summarise the main points and give you the opportunity to make a few notes on your thoughts, feelings, and resolutions' from the chapter.
Having only had this book for a few weeks I can already tell that it is going to become incredibly well-thumbed; and continuously lent out to all those friends, family and colleagues who need their inner glow re-sparked.
The recipient advised me that she found, and continues to find the book very useful and an excellent read. The structure of the book means it's a good book to pick and read in chunks relating to a number of area's regarding various aspects of modern life and the decisions & pressures we all face.
A useful addittion to anyone's library.
If you're feeling a little dissatisfied with your life, you could do a lot worse than give this one a go.
It is written in an easy-to-read and easy-to-understand amiable style and I would recommend it out of the many self professed ' self-help' books out there to get a rounded balanced and unbiased view on the vast and hugely
mis-understood world of ' happiness' and what it is!
At the end of each chapter there is a Useful Tips guide to summarise which
brings it all together.
It doesn't matter if you are happy already - or not, you can be happier and more positive and live a happier life... this book often made me smile
From the way it is written with pathos and understanding, it makes you realise that we all have a choice to take simple steps and action to help us when some days have less colour than others!
It should be given to every employer, its a perfect present for a friend and buy it for yourself as a treat!
Liggy is an inspirational person that writes from a place of complete genuineness and generosity of spirit. This book is crammed with useful and interesting bits. I especially like the format, which allows you to dip in for 'nibble-size' segments whenever you get the chance, great for people like me with short attention spans and busy schedules! :)
