From Old School director Todd Phillips comes a comedy about a bachelor party gone very, very wrong. Two days before his wedding, Doug (Justin Bartha) drives to Las Vegas with his best buddies Phil and Stu (Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms) and his future brother-in-law Alan (Zach Galifianakis), for a blow-out bachelor party they vow they'll never forget. But when the three groomsmen wake up the next morning with pounding headaches, they can't remember a thing. Their luxury hotel suite is beyond trashed and the groom is nowhere to be found. With no clue about what happened and little time to spare, the trio must attempt to retrace their bad decisions from the night before in order to figure out where things went wrong, in the hope of finding Doug and getting him back to L.A. in time for his wedding. But the more they begin to uncover, the more they realize just how much trouble they're really in.
Stills from The Hangover
If you like your humour broadside up, hold the subtlety, you'll want to nurse this Hangover with your best mates. The ensemble cast meshes perfectly--it's like a super-R-rated episode of Friends: silly, slapstick, and completely in the viewer's face. When four pals go to Vegas to celebrate the imminent nuptials of one of them, they partake in a rooftop toast to "a night we'll never forget." But they're in for a big surprise: their celebration drinks were laced with date-rape drugs, so when they awake in their hotel room 12 hours later, not only are they hung over, but they can't remember what they did all night long. Oh, and they're missing the groom-to-be.The film is so cheerfully raunchy, so fiercely crude, that the humour becomes as intoxicating as the mind-altering substances. The standout in the ensemble is Zach Galifianakis, who is alternately creepy and hilarious. Ed Helm (The Office), in addition to his memory, loses a tooth in uncomfortably realistic fashion, and Bradley Cooper (He's Just Not That into You) has deadpan comic timing that whips along at the speed of light. "Ma'am, you have an incredible rack," he blares to a pedestrian from the squad car the guys have "borrowed." "I should have been a [bleeping] cop," he tells himself approvingly. Director Todd Phillips brings back his deft handling of the actors and the dude humour that worked so well in Old School, as well as the unctuous Dan Finnerty, memorable as a lounge/wedding singer in both films. But it's the nonstop volley of jokes--most cheerily politically incorrect--that grabs the audience and thrashes it around the hotel room. Just watch out for the tiger in the bathroom. --A.T. Hurley

'Jade' (Heather Graham)
In 5 hours time 'Doug' is to marry 'Tracy'......there's a problem...
48 hours earlier 'Doug' with best friends 'Phil' and 'Stu' along with 'Tracy's' brother 'Alan' head for Vegas in 'Tracy's' father's
beloved 'Mercedes' for a 24-hour stag-bash, they have booked into Caesars Palace.
When waking-up the next morning they have no memory of what had taken place the night before, in their apartment,
there is a Tiger in the bathroom and a baby in the closet and 'Stu' has mysteriously lost a tooth, what a night ??..........
but...where is the bridegroom ??....he's not in the suite, so where is he ??
They now have to try and re-trace their steps and try to remember what really went on...
'Stu' who has a controlling wife has lied about where the four were off too for the stag cellabration, a lie he might now
find difficult to hide.
The search is on....will there ever be a Wedding ?
A light hearted / mad-cap romp in Vegas, plenty of off-beat humour coupled with the mandatory measure of sexual references and
a bucket full of strong language as is pretty standard for this type of movie.

I know this film isn't out on dvd yet, as it has only just been released in UK cinemas, but I HAD to recommend it, because it is just THAT good. It is definately the funniest film I have seen in a long time and I will definately be buying it as soon as it is released!
The film follows the guys efforts to make sense of their hazy memories and find the groom, by following various clues from the night before(what could the tiger in the bathroom possibly mean? :P)
A highlight for me was the character of Alan (played by Zach Galifianakis), who is the bride's socially- inept, ecstasy-loving brother. His character is seemingly slightly unbalanced, but ultimately well-meaning, and you actually start to feel for him as he begins to discover the delights of having friends and being part of his very own little 'wolf-pack' (his words, not mine).
Also along for the ride is Stu, a dentist ("not a doctor!!!"), whose uptight girlfriend believes he has gone to Napa Valley for some sort of wine tasting trip (nothing like a healthy relationship based on lies and psychotic controlling tendencies).
Next we have Phil (played by Bradley Cooper) a married schoolteacher who doesn't seem to like kids or his marriage. For Phil, Vegas is the ultimate escape from his surburban hell (which he is keen to impress upon Stu, who is considering proposing to his long-term girlfriend. Phil is the one with the marriage 'experience' ; something he is more than happy to escape from for a few days. After all, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas... right??Read more ›
Everyone knows the plot I expect, 4 very different guys having a great time in Las Vegas, on a stag do, losing their memories as well as the groom, then having to unravel their nocturnal escapades.
Las Vegas looks tempting, there are some positively gorgeous shots of it in that desert light, I loved the sound track, and was relieved to have unknowns (to me anyway) as actors. I'm so sick of the same old faces. The pace is frantic and I was chortling or laughing out loud for most of the entire film.
A very enjoyable, clever and crazy film.
