Currently studying for a Masters Degree in Security Management,I have found this to be an excellent source of contemporary thinking on security management. Of all the books and articles I have read (and there is a lot of them!), this stands out heads and shoulders above the rest. It is not written in a pretentious or academic styles (with the exception of one contributor), and provides a valuable reference tool to understand the key themes and principles of management security. Highly recommended. Individual themes are taken by chapter with a different highly respected author. This is one book I will not be reselling at the end of my studies. I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone studying security either at undergraduate or post-graduate level, particularly if they are new to the field of it is as a component of another field.
Works edited by Prof. Martin Gill are second to none and incorporate the very latest research findings and theoretical developments related to the study of security and its management. Contributors are renowned international security experts and the scope of their collaborative work is really impressive. The Handbook of Security is a timeless reference and an essential read for students and security professionals. Highly recommended.
