What attracted me to this book was the lack of psychoanalytical babble, it is a rare book on this subject that uses plain, every day language. I read it in a day, went back to do some of the more time-consuming exercises and found myself using the practical tips almost immediately. Jez has a no-nonsense approach to achieving clarity - the only thing I wanted was more of the same. As a small aside, I felt the second half of the book was a little rushed and needed more investment and explanation. BUT, if you are so inclined, spending time with this man is even more valuable, he has an ability to get to the crux of things with extraordinary insight and at an alarming speed. The journey you start having picked up this book is an enlightening and powerful one and if you follow his advice, your life will change.

I have read this book twice, with very different reactions.

The first time was in 2007. Although I appreciated the ideas and the readability of the book at the time, nothing really took root. The reason for this: I was not in the mindset to embrace change.

Five years later I have just reread the book. Recently I have enjoyed making a lot of positive changes. Now I can fully appreciate how Jez has brought together all the critical concepts, in both their practical and philosophical forms, in 100 small pages.

Not only an impressive feat to bring such a big subject together so accessibly, but also to bring such an extent of insight and breadth of vision to the subject.

For me, I can now use this book for encouragement that I might be on the right lines, and to remind where I might be straying off.

For other readers, my strongest recommendation would be that if you are minded to embrace change in your life, big or small, then you will be doing yourself a great favour by buying Jez's book. If you aren't truly interested in exploring change, then manage your expectations accordingly. As Jez himself points out, the motivation comes from you, not from other people, no matter how insightful they are.

This gem of a book is a great key for everyone to find out more about themselves. How to look at your own life and ways to to make adjustments so that your potential can be used in the most effective manner. It is not all plain sailing and in the process of discovery hidden and sometimes unpleasant facets of your life will need to be faced. The size of the book is great as it can become a companion in the pocket or handbag.

This little book is like carrying around your own Guardian Angel. It is simple but profound in equal measure - full of down to earth tips for a more fulfilling and exceptional life. Some good exercises too - make sure you do them before you read on. Looking forward to the next work from the pen of JC. DB
