HASH(0x9b3af57c) out of 5 stars Review of Hamilton Khaki King Automatic 17 Aug. 2004
By Angelis - Published on Amazon.com
Anyone who appreciates a well-made timepiece will want to own this watch.

At this price, you get a huge bang for your buck!

You really get a solid Swiss timepiece: a Swiss ETA 2834-2/25j movement, full day with date display at the 12:00 position, Sapphire Crystal, see-thru case back (crystal type n/a), beautiful luminescent numerals and dot markers, with cathedral hour/minute hands, sweep second hand with luminescent tip, solid stainless steel bracelet with a double push button release, decorated push/pull crown with protective ears.

Most of these features are found on watches that cost much more...

Great daily watch!

Pros:
Swiss movement
Fairly accurate
Sapphire crystal
Good lume
Good price
Comfortable bracelet (I have gorilla hair arms and no hair pulling)

Cons:
Bezel scratches too easily
No anti reflective coating on the crystal (Why Hamilton why??) -- I would have given it 5/5 if it had AR coating.

If you like the looks you will love the watch.

HASH(0x9a9b4cb4) out of 5 stars A mechanical master timepiece! 16 Nov. 2012

Long long ago, I had a mechanical watch. We all did! That was all that was available apart from a sun dial or hour glass! My watch was loud, not at all waterproof and didn't keep time very well. I replaced it as soon as I could with a Timex quartz watch as soon as they were invented. It kept time well but not for a long time. After that I had several Seikos. About 15 years ago a friend helped pick a clean simple Hamilton Khaki Quartz watch. I wore it with pride and a lot of comments since then. When it came time to replace it, I really really wanted a watch with the DAY of the week. Who cares about the date? We don't write cheques anymore and no one ever asks you for the date. Knowing the day of the week is far more important. So I began my search. There are several models available. I also wanted an analogue face so you can tell the time quickly at a glance rather than having to recognize the numbers etc as on a digital watch. So I settled on Hamilton. There was a choice of models: Quartz or mechanical. This time I chose mechanical partly out of nostalgia but also mechanical watches are truly mechanical marvels in this day and age. 25 jewel Swiss movement! (It turns out the oldest watch company in USA was bought in the 1974 by the same company who owns Swatch; they moved to Basel in 2003) Furthermore, the back is transparent, a cute feature that allows you to see the winder weight as well as the tiny oscillating wheel. Really neat! Conclusion: The watch is awesome! No regrets! Highly recommended!

HASH(0x9a457288) out of 5 stars Classic watch and a great price 12 Aug. 2007
By J Thundercock - Published on Amazon.com
Very high quality swiss product at an excellent rate. ETA movement is reasonably accurate, a little fast but acceptable for an automatic watch under $2000. Only two gripes: the sapphire crystal is NOT non-reflective and it is domed so there can be quite a bit of reflection, and the bezel is large and highly polished which looks great but scratches easily. Otherwise a great watch. Highly recommended.

HASH(0x9a3fac54) out of 5 stars Review of Hamilton Khaki King Auto 2 Jan. 2013
By sh - Published on Amazon.com
After searching around for two weeks to find the ideal watch, I came across this classic time piece. I tried this watch three separate occasions at my local store, but they were unable to match the online prices here, so I ordered online. I wanted a simple, clear dial, with day/date and hour numbers. This was perfect, a Swiss classic without breaking the bank. Remember they are part of the swatch group, which includes Tissot, and Rado. So a safe bet I hope. I have fairly small wrist, and this fits perfectly on it, without feeling too heavy. But immediately, you can feel the quality of the craftsmanship. It's too early to comment of timing accuracy, but in a few weeks I will add further comment. The watch is a beauty; the pictures on Amazon do not do it justice, and really needs improving. Overall, a great time piece.
