Pocket sized and the best available short guide to Hamburg that I could find. (Surprising the choice isn't better - fabulous city to visit). The maps are easy to follow although some key spots could have been better marked. Not good on public transport details (Why do guides always tell you how to get there by plane, which anyone can work out, but never exactly how the bus or metro system works, until what time, what ticketing etc?). It covers all you need to know otherwise for a short visit. A bit more info on the wonderful rebuilt churches would have been appreciated. Hamburg's skyline is still remarkably free of skyscrapers. Recommended.
I bought this book for a quick overview of Hamburg prior to a short visit and it proved very useful, giving concise information about many aspects of the city. The addition of a couple of fold out maps would have been useful but I suppose in a publication of this smallish size they have to draw the line somewhere.
