Had been meaning to buy one of these for ages, for use with both my Canon Ixus camera (tiny digital) and my rather heavier SLR. I finally only got around to buying it when I received a pocket-sized projector, which really needed something to help aim it at the right angle onto a wall.

So, how does it do with those devices?

Well, for the projector (Philips PicoPix), it is ideal. The tripod doesn't screw in fully, but it does screw in far enough to give a stable coupling. Aiming the projector by adjusting the legs is then easy.

With the Canon Ixus, again the tripod doesn't screw in fully, but the coupling is again stable. Aiming the camera is a little more awkward than with the projector, but it does the job in the end.

With my SLR, the tripod simply cannot support the weight of the camera with lens. The legs simply buckle under the weight. Again the tripod didn't screw in fully, but that wasn't the reason the legs buckled.

But even for use with the tiny digital and the projector, at the current price of under £3 (is the normal RRP shown on Amazon of £32 true? I find that hard to believe) this is a must have. It fits easily in a jacket pocket, or the bottom of a bag, ready for when it is required.

Recommended at under £3, but definitely not at £32.

I ordered and received this the other day. While it does the job it was intended to, it seems that this is not a Hama product as shown in the images. This appears to be a cheap no brand product being sold as a branded product, which I find very poor and possibly illegal.

This is a handy little tripod, easy to slip into a pocket (or even down a sock!) to carry around and quick to set up. It's sturdy enough to support most compact digital cameras, the compact 'Flip' camcorders or Sony Sony MHS-PM1 High Definition SnapShot Camera and can provide additional support or enable to you appear in your own photo or video. It's great for use on rough ground, uneven surfaces and can even be used on a gate or stile while out and about, although it's not as flexible or versatile as the (more expensive) Joby Gorillapod. Good value for money and a purchase you won't regret.

One of the problems I face is that the screw hole in my camera is on one end ( not in the middle) this means that i have to make extra effort to balance this stand as it tends to fall on the side. It is a helpful thing given its size and price I paid but not perfect.

It wasn't quite what I expected, but it was as described, so no quibble there. I was hoping for one of those gizmos that you can wrap around a tree branch or some such to hold a camera. Although the legs are nice and bendy, they are far too short to wrap around anything. Despite that, the tripod is good and sturdy. I had a mini one with telescopic legs, but it wasn't very stable, whereas this one can easily cope with an uneven surface. I was using it with an iPhone adapter, and it accepted the adapter without a problem. For taking photos for Ebay etc. I would thoroughly recommend this little robust chap.

I should point out that I didn't purchase this product through Amazon, but regardless of that this is an awful product. It might be cheap and versatile (it can be used with most DSLRs, handheld cameras, audio recorders etc as they all use the same mount) however, due to the plastic-type material the screw becomes weak after multiple uses. Mine snapped off inside a Zoom H4n which is worth £220.

NOTE: If this happens to you, this is what I did to remove the plastic: heat up a small screwdriver with a lighter and then sink it into the plastic which is lodged inside the screw-hole. Leave to cool down and then unscrew the plastic back out. I can't guarntee this will work for you but it did for me. It is worth spending the extra and getting a stirdy metallic based mini-tripod which won't snap.

Saw a friend using this and decided I needed one. It came in handy on holidays to take photos out and about. It can be adjusted to stand on most uneven surfaces. Get one.

"I bought this tripod to go with my new Vado mini camcorder - It was a inexpensive temporary item so I could get used to using my new camcorder.
I was going to buy a better quality one later - There is no need to buy a replacement as this mini tripod is 1st class and is great with my Vado Camcorder.

It is also great with my Kodak camera, I have all I need for my holiday, It can go into my camera case or pocket or hooked on a belt it is lightweight and will be an ideal holiday item.

The price included postage is good, recommended seller, I would use this seller again
