TOP 100 REVIEWERon 14 July 2015
This magnificent, illustrated book was lovingly compiled by Ian Dury's daughter, Jemima.
Along with a moving memoir there are manuscripts, photographs, albums, singles and personal items mostly from Ian Dury's collection.
Dury was a supreme wordsmith and almost all of his well-crafted, witty and risqué lyrics from 1970-1999 are included here.
Accompanying the book is a fascinating CD featuring revealing interviews with Dury concerning the songs on 'New Boots and Panties', his disability, early life and Art college days.
All fans of Ian Dury & The Blockheads shouldn't be without Jemima Dury's wonderful and engrossing book.

Many on here have given a full description of this product and highlighted the genius of Ian Dury so there is little more to add. Quite simply it is a stunning collection of Ian's work bound in a beautiful hardback book great for any Dury fan but also for anyone with an interest in music history and the English language. Superb.

This is a wonderful record of Dury's lyrics, with some biography, slanted from the author, his daughter's angle. Of particular interest are the lesser known songs, which, combined with the artifacts and memorabilia, show a bit more of the man. If you are a fan, buy it. It's a must to pick through in idle moments - it's not for reading cover to cover, although I did first time round. If you're not a fan of a certain age or you aren't familiar with the man and his music, it might prove a bit mysterious.

Let's get something sorted out fIrst of all - Ian Dury was a massively important person in the history of modern music. Not British Music; Not Pop Music; Not Punk, - not of any single genre. His lyrics, performances and all enveloping stage presence singled him out as a special person.

It doesn't matter whether you are a 'fan' or not - this is a wonderfully informative, entertaining and generally pleasing book that is essential reading for ALL music lovers.

Even if you hadn't ever heard any of his wonderful tunes, you would still find this book absorbing.

An important book, a pleasing and ultimately happy book - Just buy the sodding thing!!!!!!!

The book that needed to be written, and in my view compiled by the correct person. A must for Ian Dury fans. I like the style and presentation of the book, with hard covers and an 'easy on the eye' page layout - and a bonus CD which is really worth a listen.

Fantastic book of a great character. All his lyric sheets artistically illustrated and a great insight into the man. A pleasant surprise present that I return to again and again.
