I wouldn't say this was one of the best books I have ever read, based around a fairly well worn premise, meddling scientist open up a doorway into the netherworld and something beyond their control escapes and wreaks havoc on the living, is a path well trodden in the genre. The plot was passable, not too predictable but nothing special. The characters were a little two dimensional, I would have liked to get to know some of the good guys a bit better. As it was, my favourite was the demon himself, the best character in the book, I found myself rooting for him most of the way through. Buy it if you are a big fan of horror and enjoy reading stuff like Edward Lee.
