I bought this because of the many rave reviews and although cheap I thought I couldn't go wrong if so many people 5 star rated it. How wrong I was. At all resolutions text was slightly fuzzy, and yes I was sober! There was a 1cm gap at the bottom of the screen. I used the controls that supposedly set the picture up or down. The horizontal control worked, but the one I needed, the vertical control made no difference at all. Whatever I tried there was always the gap at the bottom. I ended up spending more money and got a LG 20-23 inches - E2240T-PN 22" widescreen TFT LED monitor (5 ms) , it's backlit and brilliant and well worth the investment. My thanks go to Amazon for it's incredibly efficient returns procedure. I filled in the returns form online, the offending item was collected the next day and my money was back in my account the day after. How many firms can boast such excellent turnround on a return? This is only the 2nd item I've ever had to return in 10 years of regularly using Amazon.

A Four Year Old Product Still Shines Brightly

Difficult to believe that this wonderful product is a little over 4 years old because it certainly doesn't feel like it!

Took less than 10 minutes to unpack and plug into the back of my W7 PC. It comes with a "Quick Start Setup" pamphlet, but quite honestly there's little to get too confused over as in most cases as you soon as you plug it into your PC the drivers should be detected straight away. And if not there's always the accommpanying CD to help you out.

Even though it's "only" a 19" screen it looks bigger, possibly because it's physically a widescreen rather than the standard square monitor. But it's the resolution that is truly remarkable for a relatively "cheap" monitor like this. Absolutely incredible resolution & detail whether its for playing fast-action games, or number-crunching through a very detailed Excel Spreadsheet. Crystal clear quality and no dead pixels either.

Two minor niggles:-

the power & menu buttons have been positioned on the right hand side of the monitor frame, and thus out of sight. So one has to fumble about blindly with fingers trying to find the right button to adjust a setting for example. So it will take some time to get used too i guess.

it comes with built-in speakers. But as one would expect the sound isn't great. In fact it is very very tinny at times and only acts as a distraction rather than a benefit. Personally it feels likes an afterthought. And perhaps they could have just scrapped the idea and spent that part of the budget on an adjustable stand rather than the static one the monitor sits on.

But to be honest, given the price and the outstanding quality of the picture these niggles do not warrant a drop in my final rating for this product.

It may be getting on for its 5th birthday, but it certainly doesn't show any signs of old age!

After reading various reviews here on various makes/models I went for this one due to:- price, inbuilt speakers (which many do NOT have), silver rather than black casing and size.
Only rec'd this morning but already very pleased with it (maybe problems/moans later but I don't anticipate any) but it's just what I expected. plug 'n play.
Only criticism is their "Quick start guide" basically only tells you how to connect this up, nothing more, nothing less BUT on the DVD there is a full manual with all you need to know.
I noticed someone recommended I utilise their own driver but unfortunately this is only compatible with Vista and I still have XP so relied on inbuilt drivers without any problem. It took a while to get used to the widescreen after a "standard" screen but by tweaking my resolution I got where I wanted with it. Now it's just a matter of continuing to adjust my colours to suit.
So...........do I recommend this? Bloody right I do!

I only had around £100 to spend on a new monitor following the abrupt demise of my old 17" flatscreen (9 years old), ideally I wanted a 19" TFT Widescreen with a DVI connection, adjustable stand, and reasonably attractive design. I got all of this with this monitor, the only thing I would have liked to see is height adjustment on the stand as well as tilt but frankly I was surprised to get the DVI connection for this amount of money so I can live without that particular function. I did check reviews for this monitor before purchase and it is considered by most reviewers to be a very good budget monitor. I have found the colour to be good, I play a lot of casual games and have not had to adjust the colour at all, the brightness did need to be turned down as the default setting was somewhat headache-inducing. Setup was very simple and the monitor comes with both VGA and DVI cables - I did not expect to get a DVI cable included at this price. The monitor has a silver bezel and sits on a nicely designed black stand - I would have preferred it to be all black ideally but the silver and black look a lot nicer than I anticipated. I have been using my new monitor for some 3 months now without any problems whatsoever and I highly recommend this product to those on a budget who want a decent monitor with a DVI connection.

It looks good, set up is very easy and it displays excellent images.
What else is there to say? Oh yes! The cost is reasonable too.
Considering I'd never heard of this make it was the price and some other reviews that convinced me to buy it, I was worried that it would be winging back to Amazon almost straight away. However straight out of the box the build quality reassured me; not Rolls Royce but certainly VW Golf. Set up was simple and the first images made me sure it had come to stay. I've had it now for over 12 months and have nothing to add it continues to perform.
Note: My Pc usage is undemanding no game playing, just internet, email and run of the mill applications like Word and Excel. It displays my photos very well. So if you need bleeding edge graphics I can't give an opinion.
