I bought this for my HTC Desire HD, TomTom, and iPhone 3GS which is why I went for the dual usb charger.

My intention was to use this charger in my VW Golf mark 6 to charge my tomtom satnav and iphone while I work (I work in multiple locations so travel alot) and to charge my HTC Desire HD while not at work.

I hit a problem pretty much straight away, the charger head fits into the socket ok but it doesn't fit in perfectly which means the unit can move about, and while it is moving about the charge light goes on and off. So while the unit functions just fine, I think it may just be that it isn't 100% compatible with the socket in my VW Golf mark 6. I have therefore returned this to Amazon.

Other than this, the device has two usb slots which is capable of charging your HTC Desire HD whilst using it as a satnav. Watch out for sub standard chargers that can charge your phone alright, but not whilst using it as a satnav due to low power output. This charger supplies 5V @ 1amps on both usb slots so it is perfect for those of you who wish to use the HTC Desire HD as a satnav.

The micro usb cable that comes with this is for charging only, it cannot be used for data sync. Some people have said that the cable is a little short but it seemed fine to me and I keep my devices on the right side of the windscreen while the socket is near the gear stick.

Overall, the build quality is good but I would not recommend this to anyone who has a VW Golf mark 6. Get this instead, much better! Griffin GC23110 PowerJolt Micro Dual USB Charger for iPhone and iPod

I have just purchased this in-car charger to keep the phone on the go during the day.

It arrived in a blink of an eye sort of speak.

Out from the envelope, it was wrapped in a normal clear bag,(no HTC on packaging), however it has the HTC logo on the charger as pictured. It has an LED light which comes on once plugged in, but the logo does not illuminate unlike the single USB one and I think this is due to the design, as on this one the HTC logo is on the side not on the top as the single USB one.

The quality of the product seems to be good, and it charges the phone as it supposed to do. The addition of a second USB port comes in quite handy when you need to charge another device/phone etc, one of the main reasons I opted for this one.

The USB coiled cable is rather short for a windscreen mount, but thats an HTC issue. Also the cable is charge only. You can always use this cable to charge the phone at home from the USB power adapter, and use the longer data USB cable came with phone in the car instead, but I will be comparing the two to see if there is really any difference in terms of charging time.

Other than that, a must have in-car accessory for your phone.

With small electronic items like this, I think it is always worth buying from Amazon rather than a seller. It might cost a bit more, but at least you are pretty much guaranteed to be getting a genuine part. This arrived in proper HTC branded packaging, and works a treat. I'm not saying that lack of such packaging necessarily always means that an item is counterfeit, but it seems to worry some people.

I'm very impressed with the relatively high current output and two sockets to allow use of phone and satnav for example, but it is a shame that, as others mention, the cable is for charging only and cannot be used as a data cable.

I already owned a genuine HTC C300 dual usb charger and am very happy with it.

I decided to buy a second one for another car and am very disappointed with it. The spring behind the contact on the end does not work, so the charger only works intermittently. Also both USB ports are misaligned with the body, and the power LED is blue instead of white on the genuine one. I will be returning this due to poor quality, I hope that I can find another genuine HTC dual charger as they are very good.

Excellent qualtiy item. I purchased a dual charger for my husband's car that wasn't genuine HTC and I find that the vibration of the car unplugs the lead from my phone. It is well worth paying the extra and getting the genuine item. An added bonus is that that the cable is coiled which keeps it much tider.

Highly recommend.

its small and discreet, what you want from an in car charger. It works well and as it allows connection by two devices by usb to micro usb leads, one supplied, then it is ideal for lots of products that need charging. Having HTC written on it I would expect it to last more than 12 months, unlike the item I bought it to replace. Plus the supplied lead is long enough, to stretch round the back of the dash to the pillar between the windsreen and door panel, even more discreet.

This charger is worth the money, it charges 2 items at once and if one is/has a satnav with little/no charge then it will charge enough to still run the satnav system.
I no longer have to not have my phone charged if my partner is driving and has his satnav or phone on charge as we can charge 2 items at once from the one car charge socket, leaving the boot one free for my daughters dsi or whatever she is using.
