About the Author
Paula Fisher started her career in HR over 30 years ago, working within a number of UK-based blue-chip organisations including Marks & Spencer, Matalan and Burberry. She founded Practical HR in 2002 with the aim of supporting SMEs and making HR easier for them. Paula is married to Peter Fisher (they met at school) and together they live in a village on the Essex seaside, England. Her spare time is spent walking their two dogs, gardening and enjoying good food, good wine and time with good friends! Paula also enjoys visiting Italy, especially since she discovered the Prosecco region (yes there really is one!).

If you run a small business and employ people then I heartily recommend you to buy this book.

In my experience SMEs need a book on HR which is very practical and digestible. This fits the bill.
It's an easy to read guide that brings years of experience to decoding the mysteries of HR in a way that anyone can understand.
If you are serious about running a business, then it should be the first book to appear on your business bookshelf".
Denise Rossiter, Chief Executive, Essex Chamber of Commerce
Love the illustrations - they really complement the chapters in the book.
It’s straight talking and debunks HR and all the jargon. It shows how HR can add value to any small business.
A must read if you employ staff.
