Bought a very similar one last month and love it, so got this one for my wife. I have to say, it's a beautiful machine - light in weight with no sharp edges and seemingly very robust (so HP can offer very competitive-priced extended warranty). Love the colour. Not too many preloaded useless programs, nice quick processor. Windows 8.1 not as bad as the press say and, like this keyboard, easy to get used to. Have never liked the "expandable" touchpad, too easy to catch it wrong, so I use a wireless mouse which is the best accessory for any machine with a touchpad. Given the good quality, the available extended warranty, the big hard drive and the price, there's nothing to touch it. Well recommended.

Despite only having owned this for a few weeks, I'm very pleased with my purchase. Being a student, I was looking for a laptop that was:
•Stylish and sleek
•Under £350
•Powerful enough to handle frequent use
•Enough storage space for saving documents and music
•Fast

So far, this laptop has everything I was looking for.
PRICE
Firstly the price was around £330 , therefore £20 under budget ,so it was off to a good start.

STYLE/BUILD/PORTABILITY
I opted for the white laptop and it is indeed white and glossy -(it doesn't have a silver tinge to it as it appears to have in the picture.)
The build of laptop is very good quality for the price - it's sturdy enough not to feel cheap and is generally lightweight. Though it's not the lightest laptop around, it definitely has some portability.

SPEED
Far too frequently have I used a laptop that's slow after having a few tabs running , so the power of the laptop for me was an important factor.
With a 2.16 GHz processor speed this laptop is quite powerful - especially for one under £400. In spite of me having various different tabs and documents open, it has been quick and snappy.. Admittedly, one a few occasions it has gone a little bit slow but in general it has performed as expected.

MEMORY/STORAGE
This laptop has an impressive amount of storage space. With an 8GB RAM and 1TB of HDD - I really couldn't ask for anything more. I have various movies and music stored on the laptop and this has only take up a minuscule amount of storage space, which is brilliant because there is nothing worse than having to delete things to make room for new files.Read more ›

Not a bad laptop. Keyboard difficult to see in low light so often hit wrong keys. Bought online and delivered to France within 5 days, good service. Would I buy this model again, probably not, but that's the difficulty of buying unseen, really don't like the keyboard. Otherwise it's ok.

Great laptop for every day internet browsing. Windows 8.1 is easy to use (better than Windows 8). This laptop loads up very quickly and connects to my internet in less than 30 seconds from switching it on. I have installed Microsoft Office 2013 and it hasn't slowed down the performance in any way. The keyboard is easy to use for typing. The graphics seem good for my usage. Overall it's a good buy!

I purchased this HP machine for my daughter who had browsed and searched for a replacement for an older machine. I was happy to go with the Brand Name that she chose for herself and whilst manufacturing techniques have reduced external Quality across many major brands in many ways, overall HP are still manufacturing to levels that meet customer expectations, delivery was in good time and the only hiccup was Windows 10 downloading and seeking install prior to registration and usage of the HP supplied support software.
This failed to work and only after going through the HP install upgrades and registration process and so on and then indeed the Windows upgrades system in that Order did Windows 10 install and load and work properly. Daughter is happy with the laptop, though not so keen on Windows 10 at present and I would recommend people wait until pre installed models arrive, less they have to go through the impatience of all the downloading and upgrading and trying to sync all the very many accounts that we often accumulate across so many gadgets and devices.
I purchased a more expensive Lenovo Laptop for myself a couple of days later and that was when jealousy and nightmares began, I wishing I had followed daughters example in going to HP, though that of course can be written upon elsewhere. Initial impression of modern HP product for ease of use and familiarity with software and so on is all good.

By Gods do not get this laptop at this day and age. It is incredibly slow even after system re-installation. I was hoping this laptop could handle a bit of photoshop on the side, but I couldn't be more wrong. If your only activities would be writing documents and ..... that's pretty much it as it can barely handle web browser then do yourself a favour and get something cheaper and smaller.
