I particularly like the areas around utilising social media and the interviews with other successful authors.
Alinka has written a wonderful book here, and she will hold your hand all the way through a process which many of us find daunting. Don't think for a minute that this book will miraculously get you what you want for your novels though; the work is still there, but with this book by your side, you will find that the world of professional publishing and exposure is incredibly easy to see now.
Following these very easy to understand points and steps, WILL....say it with me: WILL help you to get your publication into professional shape, don't hesitate to get yourself a copy.
Top international reviews
To me it felt like a To Do - list, which I find very helpful. Other books overwhelmed me with their loads of information.
And it's an easy - read. Took me only an hour.
Thanks for sharing your experiences!
The start of the book had pages (13?) of reviews. If I've already bought/downloaded it, I don't need that sort of filler. The end section is interviews.
Overall, the author doesn't say much about how she, specifically, sold 80,000 books, just talks about self-publishing, and things you can try.
What I love about "How I sold 80.000 books" is the entrepreneurial/ marketing approach the author used to get results: from business card and website tips to the for "P" of marketing and useful author specific strategies. The information is presented in a well-structured way, that helped me understand the bigger picture first, before providing useful details. I'm motivated to implement a few strategies right away! :-)
I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to start the process of marketing a book.
I'd highly recommend this book to all up and coming authors.
