About this item
- NO MORE HOT AIR INCOMES – HOOMEE window seal keeps the warm air coming from the hose of your portable air conditioner away by locking the hose between the window frame and the window itself. Our window seal leaves out unwanted guests, rain and crates a “closed environment” that keeps your room cool for longer.
- INCREASE COOLING PERFORMANCE – Enjoy a cooler environment in summer thanks to HOOMEE! HOOMEE seals around your open window and then zips around the nozzle of your hose and blocks the return flow of warm air, so that your mobile air conditioning unit can be more efficient and cools your room in less time.
- REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION - HOOMEE loves the Earth! This window seal contributes to reduce energy consumption and to lower carbon dioxide emissions, which is particularly high in summer due to the massive use of air conditioning. Preventing warm air circulating in your room, Hoomee window seal helps you save money on electrical bills!
- EASY TO INSTALL – NO NEED FOR DRILLING HOLES . You don’t have to buy window kits, adapters for your hose or additional tools. All you need comes with your HOOMEE Window Seal! Simply apply the adhesive hook tape to the inside of your window frame and to the window itself. Attach the window seal to the hook tape. Then, open the zip on the window seal and place your air conditioner hose out of the window. At the end, close the zip tightly around the hose. Simple as it is.
- UNIVERSAL - Suitable for all portable air conditioners and tumble dryersregardless of manufacturer. Whether for windows that open to the left or windows that open to the right, bottom hung windows or skylights, HOOMEE Window Seal will do the job. Fits window with a maximum perimeter of 400 CM.

ALTERNATIVE WAY OF HOOK TAPE APPLICATION
- For certain window types and window corners can it be better to install the hook tape on the side of the window casement. This way the window can still be closed when the window seal is installed. IF YOUR WINDOW HAS A SPECIAL SHAPE AND THE WINDOW SHOULD NOT CLOSE EASILY WHEN THE WINDOW SEAL IS INSTALLED CAN YOU SIMPLY REMOVE THE WINDOW SEAL FROM THE HOOK TAPE OF THE WINDOW CASEMENT AND CLOSE THE WINDOW
- Another tip is to stick the hook tape on the outer edge of your window frame. This allows you to open and close your window effortlessly

My living room is 24 feet long by 15 feet deep, so around 360 square feet in size - hence I got a 12,000 BTU rated unit as these are able to easily cool up to around 450 square feet of space. I had done a fair bit of research online and found that most people who rate these portable units poorly seem to install them incorrectly (usually by not properly sealing the window). And yes, they are a bit noisy - but let me tell you - it's worth it! Today while the temperature gauge was showing 27C in my bedroom, my living room was a chilly 20 degrees! A huge difference in feel!
This window seal is a pivotal part of the equation. Know that it will fit virtually any window type (including mine, which was not listed, but which I deduced from photos and videos that I saw online), so long as you measure the perimeter correctly and order the right size! Make sure you order the closest size to the perimeter! The only tools you need to complete the installation is a pair of scissors. Follow the instructions carefully (they were pretty clear), and if you get confused, there's a video on YouTube that can be helpful (but it's not rocket science). It took me about 8 to 10 minutes to install the seal.
Some thoughts: While the sticky part and Velcro strips on the seal are quite strong / top notch (I stuck mine onto the glass part of my window as the frame had locks in the way, and it sealed flawlessly), I do wish the overall fabric material of the seal was a bit thicker. The reason for this is the material is so thin that I can clearly hear the hose venting the hot air outside the window, and that just adds to the noise factor. HOOMEE - perhaps this is something you can address in a future version of the product? A thicker, more insulating 'Quiet' material? I would gladly pay more for it. But perhaps I'm nitpicking - it works, and it's worth it's weight in gold for me!

The 2nd kit received worked as it should and does the job I required nicely
I was left with two "functioning" zips after about six months but all the pull things had broken off so it was really fiddly to zip open or closed.
Finally, after a year, one zip detached from one side, so the entire item was useless. Or so I thought. I stapled velcro to both insides of the plastic near the zipper teeth and that worked even better than the zips ever did, not fiddly at all.
The company should maybe think about using velcro instead of cheap zips that are going to break easily.
Please note, I was being careful while zipping and unzipping the thing, I honestly just think that the zips are cheap and flimsy.
Apart from the zips the item is good at sealing a window for optimum cooling.
The company wrote to me a few days ago offering me a full refund for both of the units I bought. Very nice of them. They said my review was negative. I pointed out that it was a critical review and the product was still a good product, apart from daily use of the cheap zips. They then tried to get me to add another star to the review, cheeky.
I won't add another star to the review but I will say that I have two of these, the living room one is never zipped open or closed as I have two windows in the living room, one of the windows has the unit constantly in one position, the air con tube hanging out is at a fixed point in the zipper constantly. This I would give 5 stars. The bedroom zips were open and closed daily, mostly due to closing the window at night, so that would get 2 stars. It all comes down to how often the zips are used.
All in all, 5 stars for very light use of zips, 2 stars for everyday use of zips, so 3.5 stars:)
So the company gets another half star out of me. You can't give three and a half star reviews but trust me, the product is good. Just don't expect the zips to last long with constant use.
As for people complaining about the instructions not being clear, it's dead easy. You put velcro on your window frame and then velcro on your actual window - and the canvas attaches to both parts, creating an airproof barrier.
