Honor is escaping from her ex Luke with her three small boys. Honor has spent her life with her parents as part of a church that is now an established cult, she was promised to the leader and has been living with him and her two sister wives. Deciding that she needs more for her sons she goes on the run. Staying with her cousin Harley and her husband Jax until she can provide the kind of life she wants for her children.
Hawk is a lost soul who keeps getting on the wrong side of the law. His cousin Jax convinces him that it’s time for a new start and invites him to stay and work with him. On his way to stay with Jax he stops in and comes face to face with his future in the shape of Honor. Their love is instant although neither really understands that. things get complicated when they realise that they are living together in their cousins house, both understand that it’s not going to stay a secret for long but the judgemental attitude that they encounter from the people that they love. Can Hawk convince everyone of his love for Honor? Will Honor stay strong in her conviction and not return to Luke and the cult?
Cute, sweet and hot read with a swoon worthy alpha male. A story to cheer up any day.
Hawk needed to break the cycle that he seems to be in, he is no choir boy that’s for sure but he isn’t really a bad guy either, he just seems to be the sort of guy that jumps in without really thinking when others need help and that is exactly what was at the heart of his latest run in with his local law enforcement but after his last skirmish he is heading to the mountains for a fresh start with cousin in the mountains.
Honor, was a member of a cult, entered into when she was younger with her parents and after becoming a “sister wife” to Luke the cult leader she then went on to three children, she’s now come to realise that the life she has is not one that she wants and she has to protect her children, not only from that life, but also from her polygamist partner. Terrified of what she should do for the best, she finally acts, packs up her boys in her battered old minivan and hits the road heading to the one person that she knows will keep her and her boys safe…her friend Harper.
When they first met, neither of them are aware of just how connected their lives are about to become, because while Honor has already settled in with Harper and her partner Jax, what she doesn’t know is that Jax is Hawk’s cousin and the reason he is coming to the mountains, although she could very well be the reason he stays.
Fate obviously has a path in mind for the two of them but it isn’t as straight forward as I thought it could have been. There are misunderstandings and obstacles that they have to overcome but could they find their way to a much deserved happy ever after?
A faced paced, no holds barred kinda book. A Super quick and easy read from start to finish, yes, but it also held my attention and kept me wanting more and more.
More of a novella than a novel, Honored was full of trials and tribulations as well as insta-love. Honor and Hawke are quite the unlikely pair. A runaway from a cult, Honor has fled her "husband" and "sister-wives" in order to find solace and a place of peace with her cousin Harper. Hawke is a delinquent with a record and a knack for helping people when they need it most. He's decided to take a journey to his cousins house to help him get his life on track and his cousin just happens to be Harpers husband. See the connection?!
Love at first sight it hard sell for me. As much as the characters were developed for such a short story, I kind of hoped to have a little more of the chase, but I guess given the circumstances of their lives, insta was the best case scenario.
I did like where the story ended up and the flow worked very well. Although it was fast, I still enjoyed it a lot!
