Firstly the seller Atelco's service was impeccable, unfortunately I cannot say anywhere near the same for the item. This video card is not recognised by Windows 7 despite updating all the latest drivers and hotfixes. All atempts to resolve this with HIS tech department have been met with a stony silence, they do not even acknowledge receipt of your mail. Do your research prior to purchasing this product to ensure that it is compatible with your system because if it isn't, you're on your own

Excellent card - works as advertised!

I bought this card via Amazon and am extremely happy with the results. I'm using it on an older (circa 2001) Tyan S2466 dual processor AMD Athlon MP card, 2.1 Ghz, and AGP 4x. The reports about this video cards' onboard HD sound drivers killing the mobo sound are apparently bogus. The HD drivers are loaded along with the existing drivers and they become primary, but the prior audio device is still there as secondary. Just go into Windows control panel -> sounds and audio devices -> audio tab and select the previous audio device from the 2 drop down lists. You can go back and forth between the new HD audio drivers and any existing audio drivers this way.

The "IDE-Q" cooling system, that blows the GPU heat OUT of the box rather than leaves it in - why don't all video cards do this?? what a great idea - works wonderfully. My GPU temp on this video card is 46C, down from 58C for the old Matrox card. The temperature of both processors in the PC are down about 5 degrees C too not having all that GPU heat left in the box.

The DVI digital video quality is stunning IF YOU USE A VERY GOOD DVI CABLE! 30 years of working with computers here I can tell you from experience that using a double shielded VGA cable (each of the 3 colors individually shielded) made a huge difference on VGA cards and monitors, and that a double shielded DVI cable made a massive difference here in picture (Samsung 24 inch flat screen monitor) vs. the cheapo DVI cable that came with the monitor. Using the cheapo there was lack of sharpness, and the monitor wasn't getting enough signal at times and kept going into standby. Switching to a 10 ft double shielded, gold contact, $20 DVI cable solved it all. Razor sharp picture and no false standy mode. Don't cheap out on the DVI cable after buying this great card!! The DVI cable quality is as important as the card.

And the HDMI output works like a champ, too. That is going to a 42 inch flat screen TV.

I loaded the drivers on CD that came with the card first, worked great. Then loaded the update driver from the HIS site, and almost great. That loaded an additional copy of Visual C++ redistributable that I didn't need causing a conflict (also will try to load .net 2.0 but you can opt out on this one if you already have it installed). After 3 reboots the PC sorted out its I/O memory and all worked great. Nuked the second Visual C++ redistributable in add/remove programs.

Can't say yet if the Avivo DVD/Bluray acceleration works, since I'm having to upgrade to a WinDVD version that supports it. Also can't say anything about gaming performance - I'm not a gamer - bought this card solely to support a future upgrade to Windows 7, get more memory on the card so I could reduce the AGP aperture size (the old 16 MB Matrox required a 256 Mb aperture to keep from locking up the PC, now I'm down to 64 MB), be able to use a DVI instead of VGA cable and get the GPU heat out of the box directly.

Easy to Install both hardware and software

The HIS ATI Radeon HD4670 installed easily in my older Dell Precision 530. I had an old Wild Cat III (which cost $1500 in 2003) from 3D Labs in it when I purchased the Dell. I simply uninstalled the old WildCat drivers, swapped the old video card for the new one, restarted the Dell, installed the ATI drivers (from the accompanying CD) and voila! it worked like a charm.

I then downloaded the latest ATI drivers and installed those on top of the CD-supplied drivers. This also worked flawlessly.

I had no problems with the ATI audio drivers taking over my audio and funneling it down an HDMI out. The option is there in the Sound control panel, but for my purposes I don't use it. My audio out stayed the same as it was originally and was never changed by the ATI drivers.

Now I can run the latest versions of MAYA, Soft XSI and Lightwave, plus watch BluRay discs on my old Dell Precision! I was also able to use my ColorMunki to adjust the color profile for the HD4670 card and the result is gorgeous and accurate color on my two 24 inch LaCie 10-bit monitors.

I'm sure that the problems other users experienced with installing this card had more to do with the internal design of their PCs than the HIS ATI Radeon HD4670 card per se. Given my experience I can completely recommend this card for older, higher-end, Dells.

Perfect upgrade for an aging Single Core PC

This is the highest performing AGP card available in the market. AGP is a dead technology, but for the select few who still maintain the aging hardware, this is a perfect upgrade. Adds a couple more years to your aging hardware, allows you run Windows 7 with all the graphic enhancement goodies including Aero interface with out putting too much stress on the CPU. The system is a little bit noisy overall after installing the card, but that is a small compromise to make considering the performance enhancements that you get. This card has been running inside a single core AMD Athlon 64 3000+ server 24x7 for the past two years. An added advantage is the HDMI video/ audio output with HDCP support allowing you to play back netflix/bluray/ cable card TV tuner with out running into any content protection issues. I will recommend this product to anyone who is looking to extend the life of their ancient AGP based desktop systems for a couple more years. It will add the much needed graphic processing horsepower for running modern applications to aging systems.

Awesome AGP Video Card

It is no wonder this is hailed as the world's fastest AGP video card. My family gaming system needed a new video card since my nVidia 7800 decided to start having the dreaded screaming coil issue. I had had an ATI HD 3870 in a different box previously, so I started researching a new AGP video card. The much revered Tom's Hardware reported the 4670 as being the fastest, so I decided to try it myself. Thus far today I have tested this card with the following games:

Mass Effect
Crysis
Fallout 3
Dragon Age: Origins
Oblivion
CoD Modern Warfare 1 and 2
Left 4 Dead
Sims 3

All games were run at full resolution with both AA and AS set to max and, where available, DX10 options running. For an AGP, this card FLIES. Despite the aging architecture of AGP, this will revive your AGP based system for at least a little while longer, and it is well worth the paltry price that is asked for this card.

I would recommend this card to anyone who is still running AGP and wants to get another couple years out of their systems. It is absolutely fantastic.

Note: The HDMI will install an audio driver for the HD audio on this card which overrides your sound card. If you prefer using your sound card vs. the audio off of the HDMI header, make sure you visit your audio preferences and set your sound card as the default device for audio output.

PS: Shipping of this product can almost be claimed as being worthy of legend! I ordered this card on Friday and it arrived here this morning (Tuesday)- a full 3 days earlier than they expected arrival date!
