Be warned of the limitations. The product description says "Will do 2-3 average size repairs" - there are two problems with this statement. First, only one piece of backing fabric is provided, so only one repair can be done, unless you can provide your own additional backing fabric. Second, the backing fabric is very small - 70mm x 65 mm - or two and three-quarter inches by two and five eighth inches (measuring generously). The backing fabric needs to be larger than the hole or gap you are filling (so it can be glued in place), which greatly restricts the size of repair to about 2 inches max. As others have said the quantities of repair compound are minimal - little more than a thimble-full of each colour is provided. I guess this product does do what it claims, as other reviewers have stated, but you really should know before buying that the kit as provided is really only suitable for repairs under 2 inches (50mm) max. The hole I wanted to repair is about 8 inches long so I need a different solution - money wasted.

I had a cut in my leather settee about 4/5 inches long.Decided to try to do the repair myself. But what would I need?I am no do it yourselfer,so I needed something I could maybe do.I needed a cream colour, and in the box were a variety of paints, but not cream.you can however mix them until you get what you want.Using the supplied compound the repair was quite straightforward. The result is that you can see where the cut used to be,so invisible it aint. But after three weeks I am satisfied that the repair itself is good and strong.Would I buy this product again?I think I would. And as an added bonus, this little kit wont break the bank.

I repaired my settee a couple of months ago and the repair seems fine. I managed to do the colour OK (a dark green)although the repair is more glossy that the leather on my settee.

The one lesson i can pass on is that from the instructions it is not clear that you should press the imprint on and then remove it. I pressed the pattern on and left it, but when it dried the paper got stuck to the repair so I had to do another layer. A swift press and remove is all that is needed.

Quite difficult to use but results are good. In my case the worst problem was the grain texture provided was not coarse enough.

Still with 2 coats a reasonable result was obtained. I may apply a third as this should make finish even better.

The amount of each colour is OK except for black. As this is so common a second pot would have been a good idea.

Recommended.

I have Leather seats in my London Taxi and with age and use they split, so I bought this kit, I used an off-cut from an old pair of leather gloves to bridge the repair underneath, used carpet spray glue to bond the two layers together, (cut jagged edges on the strengthening piece to breakup the repair line to the eye or you'll see a straight cut piece of leather around the repair when you've sat on it a few times) then when the carpet glue was dry I repaired the small gap in the leather join (if doing it this way leave a 2mm or 3mm gap). It has been on the vehicle two years with constant bums on and off the seats all night every night, it has gone through two annual inspections (they check carefully for splits and tears to the seat coverings) and it passed both times, take your time and the results are as good as you can get without re-upholstering.

It has saved me hundreds of pounds, superb product, but be patient!! don't expect to repair in 5 minutes, take your time, you are only doing this once anyway (or in my case about 5 different splits now and the first one is still as good as the day I repaired it.)

Run out now so I'm just about to order some more as I have another test coming up and just spotted another split appearing.

I was a bit dubious about this product to start with - the leather on the most popular seat on my sofa had hardened and cracked. There were several gaping cracks and I didn't hold out much hope for anything lasting.

I can honestly say, it was easy to apply and the results of my first attempt although not perfect are much better than the gaping holes. I struggled a bit with the colour matching and suggest you do this in bright light as although the colour looked to match in normal light, sun light revealed the difference.

My biggest concern was durability and three weeks on there doesn't appear to any sign of the repair not holding, it's great.

I bought this product to repair a small 1.5" hole, and some scratches (courtesy of my dog!) on the seat of one of my leather armchairs.
Having read all the reviews, & taking on board the useful tips, I started my repair. The hardest thing was the colour match. My suite is a rich chestnut, but in bright sunlight looks maroon. It took about half an hour to mix, and I needed very little of the colour for the area. I put some on a test area on the back of the chair. The tear was fixed with the adhesive, and left over night, then topped with the matched colour, and stencilled with the paper provided. I did this carefully while wet, rather than leaving it on till dry, and the same with the scratches. When dry, I buffed it with a little ox blood/brown shoe polish to bring back the shine.
Considering the cost, the product has saved me a lot of money. It has repaired the seat, and unless you were looking for it you wouldn't know it had been. Take time and care using it, then the results should be favourable
