I have been using Heap's guides for many years. This book is an absolute must for anyone considering which establishment to study with. It gives points/subjects required, explanation of UCAS tariffs, number of applicants for set amount of places, reasons for turning down applicants, examples of interview questions, and coursre comparisons. Much much more!! For any Careers practitioner/adviser, college of sixth form tutor or student. It is the applicant's bible! Excellent!

This is a great book for reviewing course and entry requirements to university's within the UK and saves a great deal of time in that you don't have to visit each uni web site individually. Also has great tips for interviewing techniques, questions to expect etc.

I used to work in the careers service and found this resource invaluable for helping FE students choose the right course. I bought this copy for my son who is 17. The basic information changes little from year to year so I was delighted to be able to pick up the 2011 version for a couple of quid. I'm not sure he's looked at it much yet but, fingers crossed, it might stoke his interest in making a meaningful next step.

Although accuracy can't be guaranteed on suggested offer grades, overall simplicity and usefulness outweighs any shortfalls. Having all degrees in one place and places to study them is a really useful point of reference.

A good list in paper of what is(possibly more up to date)on line. did not give a comparison, or individual description of the courses I was expecting, just the titles and required grades. All in all, a little dissapointing.

An excellent book detailing every degree program at each university, and some general information on courses and universities. All the team at unofficial-guides.com, the ultimate alternative guide to UK universities, used this book before choosing where to go.

Very comprehensive description and help for the University Application process an course selection. Quite expensive though and allot of information about courses we were not interested in.
Good extra information about course structure and admissions procedures.
