I bought this adapter for a specific purpose. I bought a 12V car cooling fan system (search 'Jhua' on Amazon) and I needed a power supply to run it in the house.
It arrived in a small box and looks pretty much as it does in the photos. It's capable of supplying up to 2 amps or 24 watts of power. You must keep this in mind when plugging in some 12V products as they may exceed this. For my purpose, I needed just 15W of power so it was fine. I think some of the comments on here are based purely on problems with the power rating, so work this out in advance and you won't go wrong.
It has a standard 13A UK plug and it does carry a CE mark. The wire terminates in a 12V car cigarette lighter socket that you'd expect to see in your car. I tried a few different devices, and they all connected properly which is more than I can say for the one in the car!
Overall, it does pretty much what it says on the tin, nothing more and nothing less. What more can you ask for?
