Most of the reviews on the internet movie database give "6 Guns" a right good panning. A couple even proudly boast that it is the worst film they have ever seen. These people have obviously not lived enough. They should sit through those other recent westerns "Defiance" and "The Man Who Came Back" to fully understand what a really bad film is all about. This one is a classic compared to those. It certainly has faults aplenty, but this is only to be expected given its shoestring budget. Some of the sets look paper thin, and there are a few goofs with modern brass doorknobs and deadbolts which look as if they are brought from the American 'B and Q' equivalent. There are also a few modern script errors like the use of the phrase crock pot which refers to an electrical appliance, which was apparently not even coined until the seventies. But putting aside these bloops it is not too bad.

The film is the first western released by "The Asylum", an American film studio and distributor famous for their so called 'mockbusters', which are films that capitalise on other studios major productions. This one is supposedly a mockbuster for "Jonah Hex", although having watched that film I cannot really see it. This one is very formulaic. A family is wiped out by a villain who strives to be as naughty as Henry Fonda was in "Once Upon a Time in the West". Geoff Meed doesn't have Fonda's screen presence or those piercing blue eyes, and fails to reach those dizzy heights. As is often the case our bunch of nasties make that oh so stupid mistake of leaving someone alive. With the help of a bounty hunter, who does look a lot like "Jonah Hex" it has to be admitted, the survivor goes in search of revenge. A cold dish at the best of times!

Six guns is a Gritty Western revenge drama from director Shane Van Dyke. After witnessing the cold-blooded killing of her husband and two sons by the notorious outlaw Lee Horn (Geoff Meed) and his gang, frontier widow Selina Stevens (Sage Mears) enlists the help of famed bounty hunter Frank Allison (Barry Van Dyke) to teach her how to fire a six-shooter so that she can exact her own form of vengeance on the man who destroyed her life.

i bought this film thinking it loked really cool. when i watched it, i died mentally as i am now retarded. this film is atrocious. it is one of the worst films i have ever seen. the story sounds good but is done really badly, the acting is AWFUL. the main bonty hunter is such a wannabe clint eastwood it hurts and there are other pointless characters with awful actors playing them such as; the sherrif(he cant even keep a streight face) and some woman who is supposed to be the main character who has the most annoying voice ever plus the bad guys who i cant even be bothard to talk about. the film is so bad. i dont recomend it to anyone, after you see this, you will end up retarded. id give 6 guns O.5/10
