I’ll admit I have been chomping at the bit for this third book, so much so, that I had to reread the previous G&B books recently just to try and quell my yearning for the guys. But boy was this one worth the wait!
Firstly, I just have to say how much I LOVE the new style Domenico. He’s everything in this one - so open, funny, happy, loving, never mind a leader, father figure, mentor and friend to boot! Seriously what a revelation. He has come so far from that cold and closed off individual (although I’d personally take him anyway I could get him). I’m just so thrilled for him as his life has such purpose and meaning now, with absolutely everything to live for. Whereas before it really was just Domenico as a lone wolf, and his only reason for being, was to serve the family really.
And poor Seth, he was left so traumatised with everything that happened to him, that he can’t bear physical or emotional intimacy with Dom anymore. He wants Dom so much still, but has been left with absolutely no self-confidence because his body and face are both scarred and his injuries have lead to weight gain. Therefore he naturally feels unattractive and just not good enough for someone as amazing as Dom. He inevitably pushes Dom away continually and doesn’t realise in doing so just how much his rejection of Dom is not only hurting him, but causing serious damage to their relationship. It was heartbreaking at times to read. Yet amidst all this heartbreak and hopelessness, they still find time to be utterly hilarious (unintentionally mainly), with snarky comments and name-calling, and in Dom’s part sexual innuendos galore. But alas, as rocky as their relationship is, they’re so happy and deeply in love – more than ever in fact.
This was by far the absolute best in this series yet. It really did have it all. Domenico and Seth are so united in this one, they are one impenetrable force. This one will have you laughing, sobbing, biting your nails with anticipation, never mind getting your temperature rising with some of THE best sex scenes ever – Dom & Seth doing dirty talk during their little role playing games? OFF THE CHART!!
KAM, I salute you. This was an outstanding read. And all I can say is bring on Book 4.
Secondly, this is another amazing installment in Guns n' Boys! It was fast-passed and fun and sexy as usual! My only criticism would be a few small pacing issues and some slightly rough patches - a few scenes felt a touch rushed, but that may just be entirely me, and they certainly didn't detract from my enjoyment overall!
Thirdly, I am really excited about further installments in the cross-over with the Sex & Mayhem series - the two series have already pointed to some obvious overlapping story elements, so it was super exciting to see more of that and I'm definitely hoping for more!
seth and dom are the perfect couple with skewed morals. i'm assuming you've read the first 3 if you've got here, if not, you have to read the first 3 in the series, otherwise this will make zero sense and you'll be missing out on a great story.
this book introduces the adorable, vulnerable sixteen year old Mark, who is travelling across the country to meet Fred, who has promised him a good life, that he'll be taken care of. Mark has already done some stuff to pay his way across the country, but he winds up having to be rescued my seth and dom who stumble across him as he's about to get into some serious trouble with a biker. they take him under their wing. Seth is more willing than Dom though, who just sees the boy as a pain and a real drain on their time and resources.
so what to expect in this book? there's an alligator, a biker gang, a sort of human trafficking ring, and of course, some of the incredibly hot sex that you expect from one of Merikan's books.
well worth the read!
