GM quality is already acknowledged as the best in the World but with over 120 years of craft experience, we know that we can always improve. Our new DXM process implements the findings of a 5 year research programme into bat materials and manufacturing technology. Substantial investment in research, expert advice and machinery has created superior wood conditioning which improves the stability and consistency of willow pre-production. A new paperless design process using state of the art CAD (Computer Aided Design) has been implemented. We have also made quantum improvements to the vital pressing operation and our blade crafting has been advanced using CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing).
All GM English Willow bats are produced by our own craftsmen in our own factory in Nottingham, England using these industry-leading techniques
Top Customer Reviews
Quality of willow isn't great, with various minor knot holes but then that's pretty well standard if you're "only" paying just over 100 quid for a bat these days. There are 7 grains across the blade.
It does say "ready to use" and although I did knock it in, I got the impression that it genuinely would be usable almost straight out of the packet against a reasonably old ball, unlike certain other "pre knocked in bats". It also says it has been oiled, although it felt rather dry, so I gave it a top up to be sure. The front of the blade has an anti-scuff sheet.
Original rubber grip wore a hole through it and nneded replacing after about 80 overs of batting which is a jolly poor show.
Toe protector is still intact after 2 months which is a lot better than previous bats I've owned where it usually lasts about 2 weeks.
Overall, pretty happy.
